• When Rowlet comes up with the idea to find Meltan a replacement for its hexagonal nut, a Nintendo Game Boy briefly appears in a fantasy above Rowlet's head and Rowlet's eyes turn into altered versions of the Game Freak logo.
• This marks the first time a main character has officially caught a Mythical Pokémon, as well as the first time when Ash has caught a Steel-type Pokémon.
• The ending animation is updated to include Ash's Meltan.

Errors

• After Rowlet puts Meltan back in Ash's bag, its bowtie is colored the same as its feet until just before it lands on the floor.
