If the player has the key item in their bag, takes it to the S.S. Tidal port in [[Lilycove City]], and talks to the woman that allows access to the boat, the Faraway event activates. First, the lady questions what the player asks her and implies that the player asked if it is possible to go to the area denoted on the chart. She apologizes that they can not take the player to the area described. Just then, Mr. Briney pops out and scolds the lady for turning the player away. He apologizes to the player and looks at the map, then tells the player it is a long way out of Hoenn, but he will take the player there.
