The player must have activated [[Mystery Gift]] in order to receive the gift via Wi-Fi. The Member Card allows {{player}}s to enter the Harbor Inn, have a [[nightmare]], and travel to [[Newmoon Island]], where {{p|Darkrai}} can be obtained. When the [[player]] wakes up from the nightmare (if they had caught Darkrai,) will still have Darkrai either in their [[PC]] or in their [[party]].

*In the Member Card's description, it says that the last date marked on it was 50 years ago. On the official artwork, it is labeled "1958.12.1", exactly 50 years before the first Japanese distribution.

* Strangely, the door will not open when used a second time. This is most likely due to the fact that there is no mirage created by Darkrai to "open" the door.

* The Member Card opening the door of an inn is somewhat similar to the way some hotels today use key cards for room access.

The Member Card (Japanese: メンバーズカード Member's Card) is an event-exclusive Key Item available in Pokémon Platinum. It is the second of the four event items in the Sinnoh-based games, preceded in its distribution by the Secret Key, and followed by Oak's Letter and the unreleased Azure Flute.
