The Lightning type (Japanese: 雷 Lightning) is one of the eleven TCG types. It is represented by the color yellow, and symbolized by an S-shaped lightning bolt.
The Lightning type contains all Electric-type Pokémon found in the main series video games. For example, Raichu, Zapdos and Raikou are all Lightning types in the TCG.
The corresponding Basic Energy card is Lightning Energy.
Battle properties
Generally, Lightning Pokémon have a weakness to:
- Fighting
- Lightning (if the Pokémon was partially a Flying-type in the video games)
Generally, Lightning Pokémon have a resistance to:
- Metal*
- Fighting (if the Pokémon was partially a Flying-type in the video games)
These types are generally weak to Lightning Pokémon:
- Water (if the Pokémon was Water-type in the video games)
- Any Pokémon that were Flying-type in the video games, regardless of their TCG type
These types are generally resistant to Lightning Pokémon:
- Fighting (if the Pokémon was Ground-type* in the video games)
