History

As a wild Pokémon

Hunger Switch activated

Morpeko debuted in both of its modes in Sobbing Sobble!, where it stole Team Rocket's food and fled while they were in the Galar region. It later encountered Team Rocket again and angrily sent them blasting off with Aura Wheel once they admitted they had no more food to give it.

In Trade, Borrow, and Steal!, it was revealed to have followed Team Rocket back to their secret hideout. There, it ate the food that Team Rocket had been stockpiling for months, leaving them with nothing to eat. Later, Morpeko was seen eating some of the honey left by Kricketina Kylie while trying to capture a Pinsir.

In Pikachu Translation Check..., Morpeko showed up in Team Rocket's hideout, listening in on the conversation between Jessie, James, and Wobbuffet.

Morpeko and its rival Greedent

In Crowning the Chow Crusher!, Team Rocket entered Morpeko in the Vermilion City Pokémon Grand Eating Contest. It was forced to fast for several days in order to fuel its hunger and motivation to eat. In the finals, Morpeko faced off against Goh's Skwovet, but eventually returned to its Full Belly Mode after satisfying its hunger. Team Rocket tried forcing it to eat more food, only for Morpeko to angrily send them blasting off with Aura Wheel. Afterward, Goh's Skwovet managed to surpass Morpeko's score after evolving into a Greedent, winning the competition.

In Sleuths for Truth!, Morpeko had once again eaten all of Team Rocket's food supplies, so they decided to try stealing electricity from houses around Vermilion City and feeding Morpeko with it instead. However, it turned out that Morpeko's appetite is caused by it creating electricity, rendering the trio's attempted solution to their problem naught.

In Take My Thief! Please!, Team Rocket attempted to get rid of Morpeko by having Goh catch it. It eventually wound up at the Cerise Laboratory, where it developed a fierce rivalry with Goh's Greedent. Goh also attempted to catch it, but failed. During Morpeko's absence, James missed it, having grown fond of it, and after being reunited with Morpeko and seeing it battle, James opted to catch it.

With James

In Everybody's Doing the Underground Shuffle!, Morpeko was accidentally separated from James during one of Team Rocket's attempts to steal Pikachu, winding up lost with Ash in tunnels running underneath Driftveil City. At the end of the episode, Morpeko was reunited with James, but ended up sending both Team Rocket and Ash's group blasting off in its Hangry Mode.

In a flashback in The Good, The Bad, and The Lucky!, Morpeko ate all the food in Cassidy's restaurant, causing her to throw James out.

In Radio Lulled the Mischievous Stars!, Morpeko joined Team Rocket's radio program, where it was the star of the "Morpeko's ASMR Time" segment.

Throughout the Masters Eight Tournament, Morpeko was seen eating various foods, including food items related to characters or elements present in the episode. During the conclusion of the tournament in Partners in Time!, it finally ate its fill and reassumed its Full Belly Mode.

In Rocket Revengers!, Morpeko met Team Rocket's Pokémon that had been residing at Team Rocket HQ. Realizing the potential of such a large group, the team hatched a scheme to isolate Ash's Pikachu and capture him. Morpeko was one of the many Pokémon that waited at the end of the trap, where it watched as Team Rocket attempted to ambush the Mouse Pokémon. Eventually, a wild Latias that had been following Ash intervened and sent the evil group blasting off.

Personality and characteristics

Morpeko and Team Rocket
Morpeko's gluttonous nature

Morpeko is a greedy Pokémon that has caused trouble for Team Rocket multiple times with its raids on their food supply. If it is refused the food that it craves, it changes from its Full Belly Mode to its Hangry Mode, becoming aggressive and more voracious.

In its Hangry Mode, Morpeko is quite violent, both with Team Rocket as well as with Pokémon from other Trainers. Immediately upon reverting to Full Belly Mode, Morpeko is shown to be somewhat docile, especially after having a particularly satisfying meal, and is shown to remain calm if kept fed. As shown in Take My Thief! Please!, Morpeko has become attached to Team Rocket, though a part of the reason is that they consistently provide it with food. It has become friendly enough that it, at one point, offered a Berry seed to a downcast James. However, it still has a short temper, and will lash out at anything that bothers it, as shown in Crowning the Chow Crusher!.

Morpeko has a rivalry with Goh's Greedent, as shown when it was at the Cerise Laboratory and started a fierce food dispute with it.
