Whirlpool is a mostly accurate Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II that deals very little damage. It was the first HM move to lose its HM status, and was later followed by Flash and Dive.

Pokémon

Piplup glows a blue-white color. It then opens it mouth and a huge Whirlpool is released from it.

Lugia Whilst swimming at the bottom of the ocean, Lugia's eyes glow white, and a large whirlpool forms around it's body. Lugia ascends through the whirlpool, breaking the surface and attacks its foes, or, if not attacking, the whirlpool explodes, and it can do a large amount of damage, it is capable of knocking the legendary birds aside.
