BubbleBeam (Japanese: バブルこうせん Bubble Beam) is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I that deals a small amount of damage. Misty will give the player the TM for this move after her defeat in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

BubbleBeam does damage and has a 9.8% chance of lowering the opponent's speed by 1 level.

BubbleBeam will not be able to lower the opponent's speed if it has reached a level of -6 or a value of 1, or if the opponent has a Substitute.

Generation II and on

Same as Generation I, but with a 10% chance of lowering Speed instead.

In the anime

Pokémon

Corphish. Multicolored bubbles are released from Corphish's pincers after Corphish opens its claw.

Piplup. Piplup's beak glows a blue-white color. Bubbles are then released from it.

Prinplup. Prinplup opens its mouth and bubbles are released.
