The Pokémon franchise first arrived in Ukraine, with the first broadcast of Покемон, я обираю тебе!. In Cyrillic script, Pokémon is written as Покемон and its plural is Покемони Pokemony and is fully inflected.
Pokémon anime
Kyivan Pilot Studio originally dubbed the first and partically second season in Russian for the Russian channel ORT (now Channel One) from 2000 to 2003. The dub was based on Polish version, instead of American.
The actual Ukrainian dub of Indigo League was shown on NTN channel, it was a voiceover, based on the Russian version. The dub was ended after Showdown at Dark City. The opening was translated without rhymes and only partially. NTN also aired The Johto Journeys in the same voiceover format.
Disney Channel Ukraine aired Galactic Battles in 2010, for the first time in English, then, in Russian.
