GameStop is a retail store which sells video games and video game consoles, including Pokémon games. Occasionally, GameStop will hold events during which people are able to download event-exclusive Pokémon onto their games, via Mystery Gift.

Pre-order bonuses

In addition to selling Pokémon games, GameStop has even included bonus merchandise given out along with pre-ordered copies of games. Upon the release of HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, for example, GameStop gave out a miniature figure of each game's respective version mascot along with the corresponding pre-ordered game.

Pokémon events

GameStop has been the location of numerous Pokémon events, allowing the download of various event Pokémon. The following is a list of all event Pokémon GameStop has given out.

Shiny Zigzagoon

This Pokémon event was distributed as a promotion to get people to fix a berry glitch on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire that plagued many players. It was distributed at GameStop starting March 1, 2004, as well as receive it from the Game Cube Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 16. Its name depends on the country of the game data. Note that its Original Trainer from Pokémon Sapphire was named with SAPHIRE instead, possibly due to the input limitation.
