Trivia
- Cranidos and its evolution are the first Pokémon that are revived from a fossil not to have a secondary type.
- Although Cranidos attacks primarily with its head, it could not learn Iron Head until Pokémon Platinum, and cannot learn Skull Bash.
Origin
Cranidos is based off of a Pachycephalosaurus, although it more closely resembles a Stygimoloch.
Name origin
Cranidos's name is derived from cranium, referring to its thick skull. Zugaidos's name comes from the word 頭蓋骨 zugaikotsu, cranium.
