Template:Infobox town Olivine City (Japanese: アサギシティ Asagi City) is located on the Johto coast, near Ecruteak City and Cianwood City.
Pokémon Trainers often come to Olivine City in order to win the Mineral Badge from Jasmine, the Olivine Gym Leader who specializes in Template:Type2 Pokémon.

Glitter Lighthouse

Olivine is home to the Glitter Lighthouse, illuminated by an Ampharos, aptly named Amphy. In Generation II, upon reaching Olivine City, Amphy is ill, and Jasmine refuses to leave his side until a special medicine arrives from Cianwood City with the help of the player.

Name origin
The name is derived from from the mineral olivine, which, when gem quality, is known as peridot. Asagi means light yellow (浅黄) or light blue (浅葱).
