The Celadon-Lavender Underground has been closed indefinitely by Celadon Police due to excessive battling in the tunnel, but it isn't needed to bypass Saffron's guards anyway. This route is the first chance you'll have to find two Dark Pokémon (Murkrow and Houndour) if you pass through here overnight. Walk north through the tall grass to find a In-battle effect item.
7 is a tiny road between Saffron City and Celadon City. The Underground Path links to 8, but has been closed indefinitely due to excessive battling in the tunnel. This is the only area where two new Dark Pokémon—Murkrow and Houndour—can be found, but only in the overnight hours.

Continue west to reach Celadon City.
Celadon City has changed little in the past few years, though the Game Corner no longer conceals a criminal hideout. Like its counterpart in Goldenrod, the Celadon Department Store offers many useful and hard-to-find items, so don't miss out!

Welcome to Celadon!  The city still hosts the same attractions it did FireRed and LeafGreen, though the Game Corner no longer conceals a criminal hideout. Follow the path behind the Poké Center to find 67 off to the west.

Celadon Condominiums
Celadon Condominiums
When night falls, take the path behind the Pokémon Center and enter the Celadon Condominiums through the back door. The man on the roof will tell a scary story, and rewards you with a Type-enhancing item for listening to the whole thing. When held, this item increases the power of Ghost moves by 20%.

The Celadon Condominiums (formerly Celadon Mansion) now has two elevators and a new rooftop area. If you take the elevator from the first floor to the third floor, Lyra (game) / Ethan (game) will show up and explain that this building is home to the Game Freak staff. Return here once you earn all 16 Badges, and one of them will reward you with the List of key items in Generation IV, which lets you changes the game's music to the original tracks from . To reach the roof, take the stairs from the first floor to the second floor, then take the elevator to the roof. If you listen to the guy's "terrifying tale" at night, he will give you the List of key items in Generation IV.
Restaurant
The restaurant on the south side of town is currently hosting an eat-a-thon. It is impossible to participate, as the contest is already in progress. However, you can meet a notable figure from a foreign region. The girl with pink hair is Maylene, Gym Leader of Sinnoh's Veilstone City.

Celadon Diner
Game Corner
Like its counterpart, Celadon's Game Corner has also added the new Voltorb Flip game.

If you visit the Celadon Diner in the city's southern section, you'll see Maylene, the Gym Leader of Veilstone City in Sinnoh, participating in an eat-a-thon contest. Besides this cameo, there isn't anything here (unlike Generation II, where players could find Leftovers in a trash can).

Celadon Dept Store
Celadon Department Store
The Celadon Department Store is the largest Poké Mart in the region, and sells anything a Trainer could need.

The Celadon Department Store is still a prominent feature in the city, selling anything a Trainer could need. Crasher Wake, Gym Leader of Sinnoh's Pastoria City, also makes a cameo. Talk to him on the second floor, and he will give you three Mask accessories, one for each of the three Sinnoh starters (Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup).

Game Corner
Just like in the previous games, the Celadon Game Corner is still available for use. Unlike three years ago the Game Corner is no longer affiliated with Team Rocket. Its prize selection of TM's and Pokémon are different from the selection at the Goldenrod Game Corner, though the held items are the same. This is notably the only place to find a Porygon.

Just like the one at Goldenrod City, the Celadon Game Corner also had it's slot machines replaced by the Voltorb Flip for all the non-Japanese versions of HeartGold and SoulSilver. Regardless though, the rules are the same as the Goldenrod Game Corner. The details for the rules of the Voltorb Flip can be found Appendix:HeartGold and SoulSilver walkthrough/Section 5.
2F
The Trainer's Market sells basic equipment and items that Trainers may find useful while on their journey.

In addition, you can meet another foreign Gym Leader. Speak to Crasher Wake, Gym Leader of Sinnoh's Pastoria City, to receive three Mask Accessories, one for each of the three Turtwig Chimchar Piplup.

3F
The TM Shop sells Technical Machines on the third floor.

4F
Wiseman Gifts offers a few souvenir items for sale.

5F
The Battle Collection sells both permanent and temporary stat-enhancing items.

DPcity

The all-female Celadon Gym is a haven for Grasss, so your Fire-, Flying-, and Ices will have little resistance. Avoid bringing Water-, Ground-, and Rocks (unless they are higher-leveled), or they won't last very long. The Gym has been redesigned to create an overhead maze of archways that open in only two directions. If you want to fight every Gym Trainer, cut down the center tree at the front of the Gym to reach Twins Jo & Zoe.
The Celadon Gym specializes in Grass Pokémon. Fire, Flying, and Ice attacks will work wonders, but Water-, Ground-, and Rock Pokémon should sit this one out. Erika's Tangela is especially vulnerable to special moves, so take it out with a Fire or Ice attack. Her Jumpluff can be a speedy nuisance, but with a 4× weakness to Ice moves, a sub-zero shot will ground it for good. If Sunny Day takes effect, Synthesis will restore ⅔ of the user's maximum HP, Bellossom's SolarBeam can launch without a charge-up, and the Speed of each of Erika's Pokémon is doubled due to their shared Chlorophyll Ability. In addition, Fire moves receive a 50% power boost.

In order to reach Erika, from the entrance:
# Walk along the eastern wall to fight Lass Michelle, and enter the archway next to her
# Follow the path north along the eastern wall and fight Picnicker Tanya
colspan="2" style="background: #grass color light; 5px;" | Reaching the Gym Leader
# Approach Beauty Julia from the south, so she steps away from the central cuttable tree (otherwise, maneuver to the cuttable tree on the far left
# Cut down the central tree, and walk through the last archway to find Erika
1 || Follow the east wall to Lass Michelle, enter the nearest archway
2 || Continue north along the east wall to fight Picnicker Tanya
3 || Approach Beauty Julia from the south, so she leaves the small tree
4 || Cut down the tree and walk through the last archway to reach Erika
colspan="2" style="background: #grass color light; 5px;" |

Three of Erika's Pokémon know Sunny Day, which allows her Bellossom to use SolarBeam without charging, and enhances her Bellossom's and Victreebel's Synthesis. Additionally, all four of her Pokémon have Chlorophyll as their ability, which doubles their speed in sunlight, making them very hard to outspeed. However, your Fire Pokémon can use the weather to power up their attacks and turn the sunlight against them, so bring along Pokémon with strong Fire-type attacks.

Revision as of 14:42, 20 July 2014

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo DS iteration, not Pokémon Gold and Silver. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 7

Route 7

Route 7 is a tiny road between Saffron City and Celadon City. The Underground Path links to Route 8, but has been closed indefinitely due to excessive battling in the tunnel. This is the only area where two new Dark-type Pokémon—Murkrow and Houndour—can be found, but only in the overnight hours.

Celadon City

Celadon City

Celadon City has changed little in the past few years, though the Game Corner no longer conceals a criminal hideout. Like its counterpart in Goldenrod, the Celadon Department Store offers many useful and hard-to-find items, so don't miss out!

Celadon Condominiums

When night falls, take the path behind the Pokémon Center and enter the Celadon Condominiums through the back door. The man on the roof will tell a scary story, and rewards you with a Spell Tag for listening to the whole thing. When held, this item increases the power of Ghost-type moves by 20%.

Restaurant

The restaurant on the south side of town is currently hosting an eat-a-thon. It is impossible to participate, as the contest is already in progress. However, you can meet a notable figure from a foreign region. The girl with pink hair is Maylene, Gym Leader of Sinnoh's Veilstone City.

Game Corner

Like its counterpart, Celadon's Game Corner has also added the new Voltorb Flip game.

Celadon Department Store

The Celadon Department Store is the largest Poké Mart in the region, and sells anything a Trainer could need.

2F

The Trainer's Market sells basic equipment and items that Trainers may find useful while on their journey.

In addition, you can meet another foreign Gym Leader. Speak to Crasher Wake, Gym Leader of Sinnoh's Pastoria City, to receive three Mask Accessories, one for each of the three Sinnoh starter Pokémon.

3F

The TM Shop sells Technical Machines on the third floor.

4F

Wiseman Gifts offers a few souvenir items for sale.

5F

The Battle Collection sells both permanent and temporary stat-enhancing items.

Rooftop Atrium

The Rooftop Atrium's vending machines let you buy cold, health-restoring drinks for cheap.

Celadon Gym

Celadon Gym

Celadon City Pokémon Gym
Leader: Erika

The Nature-Loving Princess!

The Celadon Gym specializes in Grass-type Pokémon. Fire, Flying, and Ice attacks will work wonders, but Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type Pokémon should sit this one out.

Reaching the Gym Leader
1 Follow the east wall to Lass Michelle, enter the nearest archway
2 Continue north along the east wall to fight Picnicker Tanya
3 Approach Beauty Julia from the south, so she leaves the small tree
4 Cut down the tree and walk through the last archway to reach Erika

Celadon Gym
The Rainbow Badge

Defeated, Erika awards you the Rainbow Badge. She also hands out TM21 (Giga Drain) as a prize.
