Iron Defense is a non-damaging Steel-type move introduced in Generation III.
In the anime
One of the most effective defense moves, the Pokémon hides in its own body.
Pokémon
Torkoal. Its head and extremities hides in the Pokémon's shell, so the balance when is hiding is in its belly.
- Used by Flannery's Torkoal in the official battle against Ash Ketchum. Thunderbolt, Iron Tail of Pikachu and Vicegrip, Crabhammer of Corphish couldn't do any damage to Torkoal.
- Used by Ash's Torkoal from Manectric Charge! to ??? as its only defense move, used in mostly all of its battles.
