Team Plasma's Icy Malice (Japanese: 凍える悪意のプラズマ団) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the second part of the Unova chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against Team Plasma. It was one of the Unova villain events, the other being The Captured King.

The "Sygna Suit N Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit N and Black Kyurem for the duration of the event.

During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers H and Kyurem Crystals from battles against Team Plasma that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including a power boost for Ghetsis and Kyurem that would give them additional tiles on their sync grid. Event missions rewarded players with a medal for obtaining 2,000 vouchers, as well as Gems and Battle Points for completing any of these battles a certain number of times. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas using various theme skills, earning medals and rewards such as a Tech and a Support Move Candy Coin.

All sync pairs with the Unova theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.

Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Sygna Suit Hilda & Victini, Sygna Suit Hilbert & Genesect, Hugh, Sygna Suit N & Black Kyurem, and Ghetsis, and the background music wasDecisive Battle! (N) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). In addition, a special voice-over line of a Trainer saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen. This line could be spoken by Hilbert, Hilda, N, or Hugh, chosen at random each time the title screen was loaded.
