Wandering Spirit (Japanese: さまようたましい Wandering Spirit) is an Ability introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature Ability of Galarian Yamask and Runerigus.
Effect
In battle
When a Pokémon with Wandering Spirit is hit by a contact move, it exchanges Abilities with the attacker. If a Pokémon affected by Wandering Spirit is switched out, it regains its original Ability.
It does not work on Disguise, Flower Gift, Gulp Missile, Hunger Switch, Ice Face, Illusion, Imposter, Receiver, RKS System, Schooling, Stance Change, Wonder Guard, and Zen Mode.
The Ability will trigger even if the Pokémon with Wandering Spirit faints from the attacking move.
Outside of battle
Wandering Spirit has no effect outside of battle.
