Miraidon (Japanese: ミライドン Miraidon) is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.

Miraidon is the game mascot appearing on the boxart of Pokémon Violet.

Origin

Miraidon resembles a robotic Asian dragon. It also has elements that makes it resemble a motorized vehicle with legs resembling jet engines.

Name origin

Miraidon may be a combination of 未来 mirai (future), ライド raido (ride), don (Spanish for lord), and -don (common suffix in dinosaur names derived from the Ancient Greek word for tooth).
