About Me
Hi there. I go by the name Haxorus on Bubapedia. I've been an avid fan of the main series games since 2007, but I don't really see the need to build up a competitive team since I rarely, if ever, battle online. I'm satisfied with a team that covers enough types and can bring me satisfactorily through most in-game battles. I almost never use legendary Pokémon in battles, because 1) I regard them more as trophies, and 2) I like to give myself more of a challenge with regular Pokémon on my team.
As you can see, my favorite Pokémon is Haxorus, definitely. What was it prior to Generation V? Had Haxorus not been designed, you'd probably be seeing "User:Luxray" at the top of this page.
I own Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black, and White, among others, as far as main series games are concerned. As for side games, I own Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Time, and Rumble Blast.
I don't usually cheat on my games (I like the challenge a non-cheated game offers), but I will do it when I need the result for research or Bulbapedia-related purposes, particularly with regards to in-game maps, my main work on Bulbapedia.
Bulbapedia
The main work I do on Bulbapedia is the development, improvement and production of in-game maps for various locations in the main series games. On occasion, I also create and provide overworld sprites from the games. I chiefly use Paint as my map-editing program (if you've been using it as long as I have, you'll be astonished at the things it can do... even though the likes of Adobe Photoshop will always be superior to this program). I use Paint.NET to create transparency where needed on the images I produce for Bulbapedia.
Currently, my Bulbapedia work focus is on providing all of the necessary in-game maps for the Sinnoh-based games, namely Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, and to replace all existing maps ripped from the paired versions with those from Platinum instead. At the same time, I'll also upload Diamond/Pearl versions of maps already taken from Platinum. Since I chiefly use Pearl over Diamond where the paired versions are concerned, Diamond-exclusive maps will take longer than usual for me to produce.
Once I am done with all Sinnoh maps, I'm going to move onto working on HeartGold and SoulSilver maps. First things first. On occasion and where needed, I also provide screenshots from the Generation V games even though I can't yet work on maps for those games due to not being able to force the correct camera angle (darn you, 3D perspective!).
Of late, I've stepped away from that work due to school, but I'll be back.
Outside of the map-related work I do, I also do grammar fixes and minor cleanups here and there... hence my status as a WikiGnome.
Feel free to inform me on my talk page if you spot a map from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum that needs changing or uploading, particularly if the page on which it appears or should appear has not been tagged accordingly. I comb the bad image and incomplete article lists for images needing work about once a month.

My non-event shiny Pokémon
- Crobat — My first ever Shiny Pokémon, captured on December 26, 2007 as a green Zubat in Meteor Cave, Hoenn, in Emerald. Coincidentally, the first ever shiny Pokémon I saw, in other words the very example that made me aware of the existence of these Pokémon, was also a Zubat.
- Mightyena — My second shiny, captured as a Poochyena on May 23, 2009, on Route 117 just west of Mauville City (I can even remember the very patch of grass I met it in). Because of this, Emerald is the only one of the games I own that has ever produced more than one shiny Pokémon.
- Ditto — Captured on June 4, 2010, on Route 47 in my SoulSilver game, while searching for Miltank to steal Moomoo Milks from. Had it appeared in Emerald instead, I'd have been able to use it to transform into the shiny form of just every Pokémon I met!
- Samurott — Obtained as a Oshawott on March 9, 2011, just three days after I got the Generation V games. I have to say this was the biggest shiny surprise I've ever come across while playing the games. I was in fact soft-resetting for a female Oshawott (so that I could breed Air Slash onto it), but after just eight soft resets, this Shiny Oshawott unbelievably jumped out at me just as I was battling Bianca. Shiny male or normal female? I think the former wins, don't you?
