TV Mauville (Japanese: テレビキンセツ TV Kinsetsu) is a television station in Hoenn. Its role and portrayal has varied across different media:

• In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, it is unnamed. It broadcasts news and television programs to televisions.
• In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it is referred to as TV Mauville. It is based in Mauville City and broadcasts to the BuzzNav on the PokéNav Plus.
• In Pokémon Adventures, it is referred to as Hoenn TV (Japanese: ホウエンテレビ Hoenn TV) or TVH. It is based in Lilycove City with a branch in Slateport City.

Gabby and Ty work for this station, finding strong Trainers to battle and interview.

In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, the TV network does not have a physical building. The station does, however, still broadcast various television programs seen on the televisions throughout Hoenn. The Pokémon Fan Club in Hoenn has its own TV show, broadcasting two different features depending on the first Pokémon in the player's party when they are interviewed by a reporter at the club house in Slateport City.

A show about catching Pokémon. Available only through record mixing.

On one memorable day, the Trainer walked some <number of steps> steps. The total number of Pokémon caught that day reached an impressive <number of Pokémon caught>. That remarkable feat must have been possible because of the trust between the Trainer and <player's first Pokémon>. The master caught the day's last near <player's last location>. A show that discusses catching a certain Pokémon and the number of recent attempts by a Trainer to catch one. Any species caught with a fishing rod can be discussed on the show. Available through record mixing only.

The show recorded following a Pokémon Contest or a Battle Tower streak that the player participated in.

Name Rater Show

A show by the Name Rater and reviews a recent change to a Pokémon's nickname.

"And now, it's time for... The Name Rater Show. I tell your Pokémon's fortune from the nickname you've bestowed. Advice is what I have to give, and it is helpful advice that I offer. Today, I shall prophesize the nickname <nickname> of <player>'s Pokémon <species>. Hmhm... Hmm... This nickname is..."

• "A nickname that hints at talent in many different ways. I urge this Trainer to take courage and take on many challenges."
• "A nickname that perfectly complements <player>, the Trainer's name. It suggests that you will forge a fine partnership with precise timing."

Pokémon News

Main article: Pokémon News (Hoenn)

The bulletin to inform players of special random events and mass outbreaks. In Pokémon Emerald, it also informs of any win streak records broken at any Battle Frontier facility.

After the player enters the Hall of Fame, special random events can occur, which are announced on the Pokémon News: the Energy Guru's discount, Lilycove Department Store's rooftop clearout sale, Mauville Game Corner's Service Day, and the Blend Master visiting the Lilycove Contest Hall^E. Each time the player completes a standard battle or wild encounter, there is approximately a 1/100 chance (exactly 655/65,535) of one of these events triggering. If an event is triggered, the game will randomly pick between one of the three^RS/four^E possible events. Once triggered, a Pokémon News broadcast will announce the event chosen the next day.^[1][2]

Programs in Pokémon Emerald only

The following TV shows are only available in Pokémon Emerald after record mixing:

• What's No. 1 in Hoenn Today? - recorded after a player completes a quantifiable achievement, such as the number of battles won.
• 3 Cheers for Pokéblocks - recorded after a player makes Pokéblocks at Lilycove City Contest Hall with another Trainer they mixed records with. The interviewer feeds, to a Gulpin, a Pokéblock made during the session.
• Trainer Fan Club - recorded after a player enters the Hall of Fame. There is also a "Trainer Special" episode broadcast after the player is interviewed by a boy in the Pokémon Trainer Fan Club who is a fan of another Trainer the player mixed records with.
• Today's Rival Trainer - recorded after the player mixes records with another Pokémon Emerald game. The broadcast details the other Trainer's current location, number of Badges, number of Pokémon registered in the Pokédex, and number of Battle Points and symbols collected in the Battle Frontier.
• Dewford Trend-Watcher Network - recorded after a player tried to change the trendy saying at Dewford Town but didn't.
• Hoenn Treasure Investigators - recorded after a player finds a hidden item anywhere in the Hoenn region.
• Secret Base Visit - recorded after the player mixes records with another Trainer that has a Secret Base. The program involves an interviewer visiting the Trainer's Secret Base, and battling their Pokémon.
• Secret Base Secrets - recorded after a player visits the Secret Base of another Trainer the player mixed records with.
• The Pokémon Battle Seminar - recorded after a player used a "not very effective" move in battle with another Trainer.
• Safari Fan Club - recorded after a player entered the Safari Game at the Hoenn Safari Zone.
• Breaking News TV - recorded after a player encounters a Shiny Pokémon. The program records whether the player caught the Shiny Pokémon, fled from it or made it faint, or the Shiny Pokémon itself fled.
• Find That Gamer - recorded after a player wins many Coins from playing at the Mauville Game Corner.
• Pokémon Lottery Winner Flash Report - recorded after a player wins a prize from the Pokémon Lottery Corner at Lilycove Department Store.
• Spot The Cuties! Pokémon In Ribbons - recorded after a player mixes records with another Trainer whose team consists of a Pokémon wearing more than one Ribbon.
• Pokémon Contest Live Updates - recorded after a player wins a link Pokémon Contest. Before record mixing, the program first appears on TV on the winning player's game (provided it is Pokémon Emerald); it will only appear on other Pokémon Emerald games after record mixing.
• Pokémon Battle Update - recorded after a player takes part in a link Pokémon battle. Before record mixing, the program first appears on TV on the Pokémon Emerald game used to conduct the battle; it will only appear on other Pokémon Emerald games after record mixing.

TV Mauville appeared in a flashback in The Scoop, where Gabby and Ty were seen discussing about the recent destruction of the world-threatening meteor. When Ty mentioned that some unreleased footage of the incident was being kept at the Mossdeep Space Center, Gabby promptly decided to sneak into the facility in order to get the material and use it in a scoop.

Ruby & Sapphire arc

In Tanks, but No Tanks, Anorith and Lileep, Archie was revealed to be working as the head of the Hoenn TV station in Lilycove City, allowing him to keep the public unaware of Team Aqua's activities and giving more focus on Team Magma's actions instead. It is unknown who took control of the station after the events of the arc. Gabby and Ty work with Hoenn TV as interviewers.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc

In Beedrill Prepares, Gabby and Ty exited the TV station's Slateport branch office to investigate a cryptic statement that Ruby had given to them earlier. In Goodra Spits, after discovering that a giant meteoroid was heading towards Hoenn, Gabby and Ty returned to the TV station, but decided not to publish what they had found out out of fear of causing widespread panic. However, while they were away, a member of Hoenn TV leaked the information to the public.
