Mean With Envy (Japanese: 混戦、混乱!ポケモンコンテスト・キナギ大会!(前編) Disorderly Melee! Pokémon Contest - Kinagi Convention! (Part One)) is the 115th episode of the Advanced Generation series, and the 389th episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on February 17, 2005, in the UK on January 31, 2006 and in the United States on April 1, 2006.

The final Hoenn contest is underway but it being the last one before the Grand Festival is the least of May's worries when one of her opponents sees her as a rival to her boyfriend's affections.

Synopsis

Template:Incomplete synopsis Finally in Pacifidlog Town, May prepares for the upcoming Contest, the one that will determine if she gets into the Grand Festival. When Skitty chases after an Aipom, May runs into Joshua & Erica, two Coordinators who are entering the Contest as well. May and Erica don't get off to a good start, because Erica thinks May is after Joshua. At the contest May, Joshua, Erica, and the Jester (which is actually Jessie in disguise) all make it to the next round.

Trivia

  • There was much confusion as to whether this episode would air, due to the appearance of Jynx. However, since it was obviously an important episode, Jynx's face was re-colored purple and it was allowed to be dubbed, though Kids' WB! delayed its airing in the US.
  • Brock thinks that the ice sculpture of Giovanni "looks familiar".

Errors

  • When Meowth says "No Persian is gonna make a Mankey outta me!", the Closed Captioning referred the dialog as "No Persian is gonna make a Monkey outta me!"
