- Delibird's cry sounds very much like a short version of Lugia's cry.
- Unusually for a Template:Type2 that is able to learn Fly, Delibird is unable to learn Roost.
- Although Penguins are unable to Fly, Delibird, a Penguin-like Pokémon, can learn the move.
Origin
Aspects of Delibird's appearance appear to come from the Rockhopper Penguin. However, its red and white color scheme, its ability to give presents, and the appearance of carrying its sack-like tail may have been derived from the myths about Santa Claus.
Name origin
Delibird's name is a combination of delivery and bird. The first two syllables of the name may have derived from the Adelie Penguin. Its German name, Botogel, comes from Bote and Vogel. Its French name, Cadoizo, comes from cadeau and oiseau.
