Also, about your statement about how they can't have movie references in the anime due to the movies "Not being free", it doesn't exactly explain how Aura was carried over from the 8th movie into the anime, how Ash recognized Lucario, Ash and James referencing the Orange Islands Lugia, The Space-Time Tower's cameo, the scenes from the first movie being incorporated into the anime, Drew's hometown, the Deoxys special reference, and all that. :To my mind the wording is fairly weak so it's kind of a non-issue. Someone wrote the section in the first place therefore there is someone out there who doesn't believe or doubts that they are canon thus it should remain. Also we are not here to pass down rulings on truth unless there has been any official confirmation one way or another. So it should remain as it is, a neutral account of a fandom argument representing both sides equally allowing readers and fans to come to their own conclusions. :::::I agree with AndyPKMN...it appears that Pokémon Apokélypse is quite the notable short film, approaching nearly 7 million views on YouTube, and currently being one of the most viewed videos related to Pokémon. I would say that Bulbapedia should at least have some article on it. Various prominent videogaming sites have even reported on it as well, such as Kotaku, GamesRadar, GameInformer, and Joystiq... Even Wikipedia has something on it, and they normally skimp on Pokémon species articles... Pokémon Heroes - after what's in the movie "Pokémon: Heroes: Latios & Latias" seem to be more fitting.<br />

Hi. | |||
Some info for M19 has been released on Toho's site. Namely, it will (obviously) be distributed by Toho for Japan, it will premiere on July 16th, 2016, its tentative title is Pokémon the movie XY & Z 2016, and the writer for the film is Atsuhiro Tomioka, again. We might need to create an article on M19 very soon if not now. Weedle Mchairybug (talk) 21:12, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

However, he unwittingly had Ash tag along thanks to a device connecting them together, and they head over to Azoth Kingdom, featuring a lot of machinery, asking why he's going to the Azoth Kingdom. ::That's dependent on what the site's expectations for Pokémon movie articles should be. Personally, I disagree and think we should create a different section for live-action Pokémon movies. So far, we only have one live-action movie (which is produced by Hollywood) and we have only one more underway, but we can't predict the future so we don't know how production will end up. We also don't know how successful enough the sequel will be to warrant another live-action film. An article that solely focuses on live-action films will be painfully short. == Series inclusion ==
As the change being reverted with the reason when the movie released is given but I absolutely don't agree with it so a discussion is required actually. Didn't want to make a new header for reviving this subject, so I hope it is okay that I reset the indentation. Now that we know M23 is returning to the alternate timeline of I Choose You and The Power of Us (or at least have strong indications, for now) I thought discussing how we group these movies would be worthwhile. I don't propose removing the series inclusion altogether as suggested above, but something along the lines of this: "I Choose You/The Power of Us/Coco is the twentieth/twenty-first/twenty-third Pokémon movie. It is the first/second/third movie in the reboot timeline and first/second released during the Sun & Moon series/first released during the new series." --The Great Butler (talk) 08:27, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

Movie 11?
Sould we add something about the 11th Pokémon movie on to the page? Wikipedia already has an article about it and they also have a picture of Regigigas tearing up the ground --Ryguy
- I guess something about the movie should be added to this article. Given how little information there is, however, I'm wary about starting an article for it already. --Pie ~♪♫ 17:34, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Mewtwo Returns
What about this movie? Why isn't it mentioned? JmathTalk 15:40, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- TV special in Japan, direct to video (VHS and DVD) in America.
- Additionally, Mewtwo Returns is mentioned under the "Long specials" heading. --Shiningpikablu252 17:29, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Canon, canon, canon...
Why the heck would they not be canon? Right there, it says that several have been referenced. It's like saying May's Venusaur could still be a guy because we don't know if the seed in the flower could mean it's a dude in the anime. Has every past episode been referenced? No. Some have been outright IGNORED. Does that mean those didn't happen, either? TTEchidna 16:35, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- With movie 8 blatently having an effect on the main protagonist that carries over into the series, I really don't see how people can argue that they aren't canon. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 16:58, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- It's likely because there are no new captures which happen in the movies. It's like, do people think they would ever do that? Have one episode where Ash is like "OKAY CHIMCHAR, TIME TO GO!" and then the next, it's suddenly a Monferno. The movies aren't free, the show's on TV... which is kinda free. TTEchidna 01:15, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- So, what's our ruling here? Should we mention that some fans consider the movies to be non-canon because they're hardly mentioned in the show, but not say outright that they aren't? Should we say "the movies are canon, you idiots!" and blow the whole section? TTEchidna 03:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- I somewhat agree. I'd say that they are canon. Canon, again
Seriously. Who doesn't think the movies are canon? Is there anyone out there? TTEchidna 07:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- To my mind the wording is fairly weak so it's kind of a non-issue. My two cents, refunds available.--Beligaronia (talk) 07:39, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Pokémon Apokélypse
Does anyone know about Pokémon Apokélypse? If it even exists, shouldn't it be on the list since it is the first live action movie? SeanWheeler 00:36, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh wait, it's a fake? That shouldn't be allowed on Wikipedia. SeanWheeler 00:42, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Even fakes have some notability. It's a well made short film in the guise of a trailer. Perhaps we should even have an article about it here (not on this page, mind you; but if we can have pages on webcomics, we might ought to have a page on this little endeavor). --AndyPKMN 00:47, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- oh dear no, anything but that crap... Ataro 00:52, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Come on now, let's be reasonable. I think if Super Effective can have a page, this certainly deserves one. Regardless of your opinion on the film's quality, it was newsworthy when it was released (most fansites mentioned it in their news; I think even Bulbanews did), and there's certainly enough information to put into an article. --AndyPKMN 12:52, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Pretty sure Bulbanews didn't report it. —darklordtrom 11:25, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with AndyPKMN...it appears that Pokémon Apokélypse is quite the notable short film, approaching nearly 7 million views on YouTube, and currently being one of the most viewed videos related to Pokémon. I would say that Bulbapedia should at least have some article on it. Various prominent videogaming sites have even reported on it as well, such as Kotaku, GamesRadar, GameInformer, and Joystiq... Even Wikipedia has something on it, and they normally skimp on Pokémon species articles... If we can have articles referencing webcomics, fansites, fangames, and hacks, an article detailing this film project certainly wouldn't be out of the question. Fenyx4 11:30, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Titles
The first movie's amendment "Mewtwo Strikes Back" isn't present on the poster or cover and thus only inside the movie. Still it's added as part of the title.
The third movie's poster and the title inside the movie have an "ENTEI" in Unown-letters added, but it's not added in the title. Furthermore the third movie's title inside the movie doesn't have an "3: The Movie" amendment.
Pokémon Heroes - after what's in the movie "Pokémon: Heroes: Latios & Latias" seem to be more fitting.
Also, why is it "Pokémon the First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back" and not "Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back" as it is a "T" and not a "t" on the poster, cover and logo?
Thus: where do the titles come from resp. what are the 'correct' titles? -Bernd (talk) 18:13, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

M19 info has been released.
Hi.
- More info has been unveiled. Namely, the main event Pokémon will be Volcanion, obviously, and the plot revealed that Volcanion dropped out of the sky and that he hates humans. However, he unwittingly had Ash tag along thanks to a device connecting them together, and they head over to Azoth Kingdom, featuring a lot of machinery, asking why he's going to the Azoth Kingdom. Really, shouldn't we be creating a new movie article by now? Weedle Mchairybug (talk) 21:07, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

But the section header should remain "Sun and Moon" as the movies were released during the Sun and Moon series.--ForceFire 14:28, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
- Well actually I don't want to say disagree at this moment because there is a ratherly stronger word, felt cheated. Yes I agree it is released between Sun and Moon series but the legitimate expectations is, characters exclusively from the Sun and Moon series should be included in the movie and it actually didn't. It goes too over when M22 is just a 3D remake of M01. If you tell me that M22 is a Sun and Moon series movie I would just felt cheated. So I think the stucture should be change when the situation is changed. KyleRGiggs 05:01, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

- Thanks for reminding me of the problem there. Movies and films are the same things. How about renaming to Pokémon anime movie to avoid disambiguation? KyleRGiggs 04:53, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- That's dependent on what the site's expectations for Pokémon movie articles should be. Series inclusion
As the change being reverted with the reason when the movie released is given but I absolutely don't agree with it so a discussion is required actually. I am thinking of removing series of the movie released, as M22 is already absolutely not related to Sun and Moon series. Readers would felt cheated when they aimed to find an SM movie but the plot is totally not related to the characters in the SM series. At least I strongly felt like that.
- Clarifying after reviewing previous comments: I say this in reference to the way the movies are referred to on their individual pages, not the way they're grouped on this page or in the template. --The Great Butler (talk) 08:29, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
