Pokémon History
Video Games
I started to play Pokémon at the age of 6 in the year 1998, I asked for Pokémon Blue and a Game Boy Color for Christmas and got them. At the age of 8 in the year 2000, I asked for Pokémon Gold for Christmas and got that too. He often played at lunch and recess time in school with close friends and other people who played, which was most of his class. At the age of 11 in the year 2003, a small amount of his fellow trainers got Pokémon Ruby or Pokémon Sapphire on their Game Boy Advance. After seeing other trainers play these games, Pokémon Gold finally became out dated, and most people stopped playing because they did not have a Game Boy Advance.
In the summer of 2007 now at age 15, a close friend of mine bought Pokémon Diamond, as this friend was one of the few trainers who stuck with the series after Gold. He started with Chimchar. I then renewed my interest in the video game series. I began to read about Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on the internet, and then fell in love with the series again. He asked for a Nintendo DS Lite and Pokémon Pearl for Christmas.
Me and my trainer friend then got another friend, who never played Pokémon before, to get into the series. This friend also wanted to receive a Nintendo DS Lite and Pokémon Diamond for Christmas. We were successful, as me and my friend recieved Pokémon Pearl and Pokémon Diamond, respectively. I' started with Turtwig and the new trainer started with Piplup
Then, my best friend from Calgary, Alberta visited Newfoundland & Labrador from January 1 to January 3. This friend then bought Pokémon Diamond and started with Chimchar. We played alot together while we could.
A few people have bought the games in the past weeks.
I think I might pick up Emerald sometime in the next month or two.
Anime
I started watching since the first episodes. I stopped watching the Anime series, but I'm not sure at what age. All I know is it was sometime during Johto. I just drifted away from the Anime, but kept playing the video games. I watched my first episode in 4-7 years on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007. This episode was "Setting The World On Its Buneary" and was watched at 1:30 NST on YTV. I am now a regular watcher, but I often miss episodes due to the fact I usually have hockey when the show is on.
TCG
I started collecting in summer 1998 I think. Just a few months before I started with the anime and games. I started with some starter pack that had a holo Machamp. I gave away all of my cards to someone but I can't remember who. I kind of regret this now. I loved collecting all of the holos. I think I gave them away even before I stopped watching the anime. I don't think I'll start collecting again any time soon. If I did start, I'd try to get back some of the favorites I had. Like my Ditto. With hockey and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards I already spend enough. But hey, a few years down the road, you never know...
