Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Z-A/Part 7
When you head to the lobby the next day you’ll talk to Lida and Naveen. This starts Main Mission 07: Reaching Rank W. They ask why you joined Team MZ, and Lida says that if you beat Naveen in battle, she’ll tell you why he joined. Naveen doesn’t seem interested in the idea, but goes along with it anyway.
Naveen has a level 16 Spinarak, a level 16 Sableye, and a level 17 Scraggy. Once you defeat him, he admits that he really wants to be a fashion designer, and isn’t that interested in battling with Pokémon. You will then receive a notification for your next promotional match against Xavi, and you’ll need 4000 points for your ticket.
Walk on the wild side
Wild Zone 6 is now readily available with some new Pokémon for us to catch. It’s worth swinging by here, to catch some new Pokémon before we change the time to night and head back to the Battle Zone. You can also find TM041 Water Pulse in this zone by climbing on the tops of the buildings. In general it is worth climbing up buildings as you explore the city as you can find different rare Pokémon up there.

Battle Zone
As with the last Main Mission we will need to enter the Battle Zone at night in order to earn points and get our ticket to battle Xavi. Bonus Cards are even more important this time if you want to complete the task in one trip as we need 4000 points.
Before taking on Xavi there are three side missions now available that will collect the Generation VII First partner Pokémon: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. You don’t have to choose just one, as all three are available.
Starter side quests
Side Mission 007: A Feisty Chespin
Start this mission near Académie_Étoile where you can find an aggressive Chespin fighting a taxi. Talk to the Chespin to fight it. It’s level 14 so it shouldn’t be too difficult. However, you must defeat it three times back-to-back before it gives up. The Chespin will join you as a reward and you will also earn $1000, 3 Exp Candy XS and 1 Exp Candy S.
Side Mission 008: Get Well, Fennekin
Start this mission by talking to a woman standing next to a sick Fennekin west of Prism Tower. Head to Café Classe in Vert Sector 4 and talk to the Old Man, who tells you to find a Revitalizing Twig in Wild Zone 5. It can be found in the room through the sewers where the Alpha Whirlipede is. To reach it, you will need a Pokémon with a move that can clean up the sludge, such as Water-type moves, and certain Fire-type or Psychic-type moves. There are five twigs in this room and you’ll have to collect them all to find a fresh one.
Return to the woman with the sick Fennekin and it will join your party. You will also receive $1200, 3 Exp Candy XS and 1 Exp Candy S.
Side Mission 009: A Challenge from Froakie
You’ll find this mission near the Jaune Pokémon Center. Talk to the man near the Froakie on the scaffolding and he’ll ask you to clear his course in 30 seconds or less. Accept the challenge and climb to meet the Froakie at the top. However, this isn’t enough to impress it.
Go to the other side of the grass for another climbing challenge. This isn’t difficult but there are some narrow platforms. Once you reach Froakie, travel to Rouge Pokémon Center for the final climbing challenge. This time you’ll need to roll over larger gaps in order to make it onto some platforms. Once you have completed this challenge Froakie will be so impressed it’ll join you. You’ll also receive $1800, 3 Exp Candy XS and 1 Exp Candy S for completing the side mission.
Xavi’s battle
Once you have finished everything you want to, you’re ready to take on Xavi. He might just be a little kid but he’s the strongest trainer you’ve faced so far. Xavi has four Pokémon on his team, leading with a level 20 Venipede. This is just a warm up as he follows with a level 21 Kadabra, a level 20 Roselia, and finally a level 21 Furfrou.
Once he’s defeated you’ll have completed Main Mission 07, and be ready to go back to Hotel Z.
