Moving up
Once you’ve seen your first Mega Evolution, a message will come through the Z-A Royale app telling you that your next promotional match is ready. This time you will face another Rank Y opponent named Yvon, and you’ll need 3000 points to take part in the battle. This will trigger Main Mission 06: Reaching Rank X.
This Main Mission is a lot more open than anything we’ve faced before. The next mission marker sends us to Yvon, but we’ll need to wait until night to activate the Battle Zone and gain the points needed to challenge her.
Wild Zone clean up
Things have now become a little more open. Not only can we roam the city freely, but we can change the time of day to whenever we like by sitting on a bench. This means you can change the time to night straight away to go to a Battle Zone, or we can take a detour and finish up some Wild Zones.
Wild Zone 2 has Staryu available only at night, while Wild Zone 4 features Honedge as a nighttime exclusive. You can pick them up quickly by using the fast travel points on the map to zoom between the areas, after you see the cutscene telling you that it is now night.
Entering the zone
Before we take on Yvon, we need to gather some points for a ticket. You can either wait until night falls or rest at the bench to change the time of day, then open the map to warp to the next Battle Zone. We are introduced to a new mechanic called Bonus Cards.
You can hold up to three Bonus Cards at a time and they give you tasks to complete in exchange for extra points. These ask you to do things like “Knock out a Pokémon with a certain-type move” or “Sneak up and attack a Pokémon with a certain-type move”. Picking these up and completing them are well worthwhile, and add considerably to your point total.
This time, trainers in the Battle Zone will be of different ranks, and the higher their rank the more points you’ll earn. You might even be able to take out rank Z players by striking them while they’re unaware. There are five trainers here allowing you to earn enough points for your ticket in one trip.
Wild child
Yvon is right next to Wild Zone 5, so it’s worth stopping by to catch some new Pokémon. Electrike is the rare spawn here, and we only saw one in our playthrough on a ledge in the area where the Alpha Whirlipede is. You will need a Pokémon with a Water-type move to clear the sludge to get through to this room, and the Whirlipede is quite dangerous so you’ll need some quick movement.

Y is for Yvon
Once you have visited the Pokémon Center and have stocked up on items you can talk to Yvon to start your next promotional battle. She has a level 15 Spritzee, a level 15 Swirlix, and a level 16 Vivillon. If you have a full party of Pokémon near her level it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Once you have defeated Yvon you’ll be told that you have completed Main Mission 06. Urbain/Taunie takes you back to Hotel Z for a well earned rest.
