Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Z-A/Part 4
Challenger approaches
Once you have returned to Hotel Z, you will then be challenged through the Z-A Royale app by Zach. If you defeat Zach you’ll reach Rank Y, but we need 1000 points in order to accept the invitation. This will unlock Main Mission 04: Battling in the Z-A Royale. This time we’ll be intentionally heading into the Battle Zone to battle people and gain enough points to battle Zach.
Urbain/Taunie, Lida, and Naveen offer to help you with your first attempts in the Battle Zone. It’s now night time so heading outside will let you return to the Battle Zone and begin earning points to challenge Zach.
Battle time
Once in the Battle Zone you need to win three fights against trainers in order to earn the 1000 points you need. Don’t worry if you are low on health, as you can return to Urbain/Taunie to heal your Pokémon at any time.
Your first fight will feature a Bellsprout, and if your Pokémon is out of their ball the trainer will catch you off guard and attack first. You can put your Pokémon back in the ball by pressing down on the D-Pad. Either way, it shouldn’t prove too difficult to win.
Sneak attack
Luckily, you can catch the next trainer off guard by attacking their Bunnelby before they see you. If you speak to Lida, they will tell you to crouch by pressing in the L-Stick allowing you to sneak up behind the Bunnelby and ordering your Pokémon to attack it.
Once their Bunnelby is down, they will follow up with a Fletchling. You can swap your Pokémon mid-battle, or you can wait until one is knocked out before sending out another. Once defeated you can talk to Naveen for some more battle tips.
The final trainer in the area has a Weedle, and shouldn’t be too challenging. You can also perform a sneak attack on this Weedle, but it will be more difficult than the Bunnelby. Once finished you can meet Urbain/Taunie outside of the Pokémon Center.
Driving wild
You can heal at the center and buy some items, or go straight into taking on Zach in the taxi lot. Zach has a level 8 Slowpoke, level 9 Pidgey, and level 9 Pikachu on his team and defeating him will launch you to Rank Y. At this point you should have filled up your party with six Pokémon. You can also access your Boxes at any time from the menu, so make sure you have a full team with good type match ups before you take him on.
After you win your match, you will then be approached by Emma, a detective working in the city. This completes Main Mission 04. You can then return to the hotel for delicious croissant curry.
