Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Z-A/Part 26

The tower takes over

While there is a moment's peace at the tower, Ange starts to fight back. Floette’s vines begin to erupt out of the tower, turning it into a living monster which threatens to use Light of Ruin on Lumiose City, destroying everyone who lives there. Follow Lida and Naveen over the rooftops, and down the ramp onto the street. Urbain/Taunie then calls the team. They say that Mega Floette is trying to protect everyone, while Ange is trying to use Floette's attacks. Zygarde then appears suddenly on one of the rooftops of the Magenta District.

As you start your journey over to Zygarde, you're going to have to deal with a few more Rogue Mega Evolution Pokémon, starting with a Rogue Mega Heracross and Gengar. The fights against wild Rogue Mega Evoluions in this section of the game are standard battles rather than the special Rogue Mega Evolution battles that we’re used to. All of the Rogue Mega Pokémon in this mission are level 62. Like other Rogue Megas we've fought up to this point, they take negligible damage from regular Pokémon, and only take major damage from Plus Moves and Mega Pokémon. Luckily, Naveen and Lida will join you in these fights with their own Mega Pokémon.

Once those two Rogue Mega Pokémon are dealtt with, Team MZ hold a strategy meeting to decide what to do next. Holograms of Canari, Corbeau, Ivor and Jacinthe also show up to help out. The four of them will separately help secure parts of a route for us so that we can reach Zygarde for help. Finally, Emma calls with the message that we need to trust in L. This launches Main Mission 37: Operation Protect Lumiose.

Long and winding road

Firstly you will meet up with Ivor and Gwynn. There, the three of you will face Mega Garchomp, Pidgeot and Kangaskhan at once. These fights can quickly become overwhelming, so it's best to lead one Mega Evolved Pokémon away from the group and allow Ivor and Gwynn to take on the others separately.

Afterwards, Gwynn distracts two Mega Sharpedo and a Scizor as you follow Ivor through the streets. Ivor and Falinks then knock down some debris to pave the path forward for you. Head across the river to meet up with DYN4MO, where Canari will help you take on Mega Blastoise and Steelix.

During the battle Tarragon and his crew erect scaffolding to help you reach your next destination. This provides you with a platforming challenge to complete. The path is pretty straightforward, but going slightly off will provide us with some nice goodies like a Max Revive and some Exp. Candy M. Mega Beedrill and Lopunny will take on DYN4MO as you go on to the next group.

Lebanne meets you in front of a Mega Aggron and Salamence. Jacinthe isn't there to help out as she's in a meeting with the mayor to figure out what to do before everyone is evaporated, but Lebanne will at least help you in battle. After the battle Jacinthe finally turns up as Mega Houndoom and Abomasnow try to attack. They turn on the Jacinthe Zone to stop the Pokémon from blocking your path.

From the SBC, continue into the shopping mall where you are met by Corbeau. The challenge this time is against Mega Gardevoir and Gallade. After you battle with them, Corbeau leads you to join the other members of the Rust Syndicate. The gang then makes a human ladder so that you can reach the rooftops. If you want to see a nice easter egg, try jumping back down and talking to them again until you get bored.

As you cross the roofs you are blocked by Mega Aerodactyl, Metagross and Alakazam. Luckily, Griselle and Grisham show up to aid you in battle. After you have defeated these Rogue Mega Evolutions, Zygarde will finally show its face. A flock of Mega Pinsir appear and Team Flare Nouveau agree to fight them off so you can move on.

Completing Zygarde

You need to follow Zygarde up to a nearby tall building, where Urbain/Taunie will call you. They can see that you made it to Zygarde, and L approaches to say he has found 99 of the 100 Zygarde Cells needed to create Zygarde's Complete Forme. Luckily, you have the last cell in your bag and together you will fight Ange Floette.

Defeat the red and blue flowers using your Pokémon. Like Rogue Megas, these take noticeably more damage from Plus Moves and Mega Pokémon. Once they are both taken down, it creates an opening for Zygarde to use one of its moves. Like with normal battles you will need to lock on and choose an attack as Zygarde. Ange Floette then launches Light of Ruin, and you need to dive under Zygarde’s shield to be protected from damage.

These two sections will repeat multiple times over the course of the fight. However, after Ange Floette uses Light of Ruin the first time, it can use Light of Ruin at any point. Make sure you find Zygarde and duck under its shield when the flowers retreat underground for this attack. As Zygarde takes out Ange Floette, all that's left is for Floette to fully take control. With the good news everyone returns back to their posts.

However, this is just a second fake out, and something is still wrong. Despite Zygarde's attacks, Ange can still move, and it opens up the flower at the top of the tower, preparing to launch a Light of Ruin so powerful it destroys the city. Choose to grip the pebble in your hand tightly and it will transform into Zygardite. Click in the R Stick to Mega Evolve Zygarde, lock on to the Light of Ruin with ZL, and choose to attack it with Nihil Light. The attack turns into beautiful fireworks, and Urbain/Taunie slides out of Prism Tower clutching Floette. Congratulations, you have completed Main Mission 37 and the credits on Pokémon Legends: Z-A will roll!
