Walkthrough:Pokémon Legends: Arceus/Part 13
Coronet Highlands
Back at camp, Professor Laventon theorizes that the energy that is currently surging from the rift, causing the second Legendary Pokémon to appear, also caused the lightning that frenzied the Noble Pokémon. Commander Kamado apologizes to the clan leaders, before apologizing to you personally. The clan leaders accept his apology, understanding that his actions were borne from a desire to keep people safe.
Laventon reminds everyone that there still needs to be a plan for how we deal with the other legendary Pokémon, and the words of your captured legend are spoken through your ally. We require the Red Chain, which we have already (or what's left of it at least), a “vessel of humankind's invention”, which the professor posits is a Poké Ball, and a “stone of creation's beginning”, whatever that might be.
Laventon again has another idea, and asks you to hand over the Plates you've been collecting throughout your adventure. The professor wants us to find an ore made from the same substance as the Plates, and warden Lian might know where to find some, as he'd been investigating the matter at Volo's behest. Laventon names the new material we seek Origin Ore, and we're given a new Mission: The Counterpart.
Melli arrives looking to help, and while he rubuffs Adaman's suggestions he does give you three Candy Truffles, before Irida arrives with Lian. Lian and Melli argue briefly, before Lian asks you to meet him at the Primeval Grotto. Use this opportunity to refresh your team and inventory, then head over.
Primeval Grotto
Inside the Primeval Grotto, examine the wall with some strange glowing ore embedded in it. The clan leaders and Lian arrive, and Lian is confident that with the help of his Sliggoo they'll be able to extract it from the cave. Before you can start, you're ambushed by the Miss Fortune Sisters, who are demanding the deposits you're after. Adaman and Irida will take on Clover and Coin respectively, leaving you to battle against Charm.
Charm will send out Rhydon first, and its dual weakness to Water and Grass-type moves gives you an easy avenue of attack, especially to its weaker special defense stat. Her Gengar has the opposite issue, and is very frail on the physical side, so a powerful physical Dark, Psychic, or Ghost-type move should knock it out no problem, especially if you utilize Strong Style, provided you've mastered your chosen move. Be careful of Hypnosis, which can really slow the fight down if it connects and you're unable to fight through the drowsiness.
After your victory, the Miss Fortune Sisters all leave in a cloud of smoke, and your Pokémon are healed by the clan leaders. Lian and his Sliggoo are able to extract some of the necessary Origin Ore, meaning it's time for us to return to Professor Laventon. You can choose to make your own way to the Summit Camp, or simply fast travel using the map. Once you're back at camp, talk to the professor, and everyone will head back to Jubilife Village.
Jubilife Village
At Galaxy Hall, the group uses the materials described - the fractured pieces of the Red Chain salvaged from the Temple of Sinnoh, the Origin Ore mined from the Primeval Grotto, and a simple Poké Ball, and Rei/Akari will work on crafting them together. Eventually their work is complete, and Professor Laventon will excitedly hand you the Origin Ball, a one of a kind ball used solely to capture the frenzied Pokémon at the Temple of Sinnoh, and unable to be selected in any other scenario.
Your nominated leader will receive another message from their deity, agreeing to lend their strength for the battle ahead. You now have the opportunity to make any further changes to your party and inventory, before heading to the front gates to leave for the Coronet Highlands. Cogita is waiting for you before you depart the village, and she will tell you about the legendary Pokémon you are about to face, and remind you that you need to have your captured legend in your party so you can restore balance to time and space - you cannot advance unless you do this, so add it into your team if necessary before heading to the Summit Camp.
Coronet Highlands
From the Summit Camp, head up Cloudcap Pass, and in the Stone Portal you'll see that Volo has been waiting for your return, partly to be on hand to sell you anything you need, but also to see first-hand the legendary Pokémon. Continue through the Stone Portal, and exit to the Temple of Sinnoh.
Temple of Sinnoh
Commander Kamado, Adaman, and Irida are waiting for you at the temple steps. Kamado acknowledges his errors in trying to eliminate any external forces that may have posed a threat, and asks if you are ready for this challenge. Tell him you're ready, and you'll enter the temple where Dialga or Palkia awaits.
As you approach it, there's an almighty explosion of light that renders the temple in two, and your chosen legend emerges from its Poké Ball to try and take down its opponent, but all is not as it seems, with the uncaptured Pokémon having morphed into its Origin Forme, before you are plunged into one last frenzied fight.
At this point we're familiar with the pattern these battles will take, where you must dodge incoming attacks while hitting your opponent with Space Balms/Time Balms, lowering the frenzy gauge until it is defeated. This will test all of the skills you've honed during the five noble battles, dodging a variety of attacks while finding small windows to target and throw balms, all while trying to maneuver around any arriving hazards, paying close attention to the arena to make sure you're out of the area of effect. Unlike the frenzied nobles, Dialga or Palkia's guard is never broken, so you won't get the chance to send your Pokémon into battle against it, and must whittle the entire gauge down with the Space Balms/Time Balms.
There are a number of attack patterns to be wary of - the first is a series meteors that fall on the arena, one after the other, allowing you to circle the Pokémon and continue to fire balms. After this, it will shoot three rings across the floor, which you can avoid by rolling forward through them. Once the gauge is low enough, the area of effect from the meteors will increase, making them harder to avoid, and it can use a new attack where it causes a line of meteors to fall all away across the battlefield. Continue finding opportunities when you're in a safe space, and throw as many balms as you can in that time.
Once the frenzy gauge is fully depleted, you'll throw the Origin Ball, catching the Origin Forme Pokémon, returning the sky to normal, and closing the space-time rift. The group congratulates you on your success, and Commander Kamado even sheds a tear, before ordering that the village will host the greatest festival that Hisui has ever seen, with the Galaxy Team and both clans in attendance. You take one last look back at the Temple as you leave, and the credits roll, with the main part of your adventure completed.
- You've completed Mission 18: The Counterpart!
After the credits finish, your Arc Phone beeps, with a simple message - “Seek out all Pokémon.”
