Walkthrough:Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Part 29
These pages follow the original Nintendo DS iteration, not Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.
Fuego Ironworks

The Fuego Ironworks is located to the west of Route 205 (South), and can only be reached by Surfing upriver. The facility is used to refine iron ore mined from Mt. Coronet in order to manufacture mechanical parts. Spin tiles are used for Workers to move around the building.

Go west and step on the first spin tile. Pass by the interior southwest area with only the single blue crate, and step on either spin tile near the west wall. Worker Dillan can be battled here in the northwest part of the building. Move southeastward to find that the passage diverges. Take the northern spin tile first for a detour to the interior northwest area, with two blue crates and four barrels, and pick up the Burn Heal there. Retreace your steps and take the southern spin path next; this leads to the north-central area, where Worker Holden can be battled. Step on the spin tile to the northeast to move along a path shaped like a question mark through the narrow northeast corridors. Backtrack to the north of this stopping point and go east; this leads to a lone barrel in the east-central area. Pick up the Fire Stone in the northeast corner of the building, then continue to the room in the southeast corner. Step on the northern of the three spin tiles here; this leads to the south-southeast area with Worker Conrad. Backtrack and walk around the group of spin tiles to reach a Rock Incense. Go northwest from Worker Conrad to reach the boiler room.
Boiler room
Mr. Fuego, the owner of the facility, can be found in the boiler room. Speak to him to receive a Fire Stone as a souvenir. Pick up the nearby TM35 (Flamethrower), then take the spin tile to the southeast for a shortcut to the entrance.
Eterna Forest

Old Chateau
The Old Chateau is an aging manor house in the northeast part of Eterna Forest. Abandoned by its owner, it has since fallen into disrepair, and is believed to be haunted. An old fence still lines the property, with young trees now growing in between. Passing through the fence and reaching the building beyond requires the use of Cut.
After defeating the Eterna Gym, you find Gardenia peering through the fence at the front of the property. She mentions that people have been talking about the ghost Pokémon inside, and there are even rumors of sinister shadows inside. She wants to check things out for herself, but as a Gym Leader, she is always very busy and has no time to investigate, certainly not because she is scared to do so.

1F (Front)
The entrance hall features two large staircases with a room on either side. An Old Gateau can be found in the western room.
1F (Back)
The door on the entrance hall's lower level opens to the dining room. The ghost of an elderly butler is sometimes seen moving toward the kitchen.
2F
The door on the entrance hall's upper level opens to a hallway that connects to five rooms. The Dread Plate can be found in the westernmost room, and TM90 (Substitute) can be found in the easternmost one. The ghost of a little girl is sometimes seen in the easternmost room.
The TV that Stares Back
With the National Pokédex upgrade in hand, you can encounter one of the ghosts that haunts this place. Visit the building at night and climb to the second floor. Step inside the second room from the west, which holds an old TV that somehow still appears to be powered on. Examine the appliance to find a Pokémon inside. It seems as though the Pokémon could be shaken loose, so choose to give the TV a thumping, and the Pokémon attacks!
VS Rotom
Rotom is unique in its Electric/Ghost typing. It is vulnerable only to Dark- and Ghost-type moves, and is immune to Normal- and Fighting-type moves. Its Levitate Ability also protects it from Ground-type attacks. As Rotom has only grown to level 15, be sure to oppose it with a Pokémon of a similar level to avoid defeating it accidentally. Use super effective moves to wear its health down quickly before switching to attacks of other types to chip away at it further. Quick Balls will be the most effective at capture in the first turn, while Nest Balls and Ultra Balls will also be useful.

Fullmoon Island

Canalave City
Sailor Eldritch's house
After entering the Hall of Fame and with the National Pokédex update in hand, return to Canalave City and visit Sailor Eldritch's house in the southwest part of town. His wife can be found tending to their young son, who is thrashing about in his sleep. It seems as though the little boy has been stricken by a nightmare. He can be heard muttering, "Dar... Dark...is watching...me...".
Speak to Sailor Eldritch near the ferry, and he admits that he has lost his love of sailing since his son fell into his nightmare. He then mentions that he needs the Lunar Wing from Fullmoon Island to awaken him, as it has the power to dispel nightmares, and asks if you would visit the island for him and his son.
Fullmoon Island
Fullmoon Island is a small island located to the northwest of mainland Sinnoh. Mostly covered with trees, the crescent-shaped island features a single clearing that holds a small pond.

Mistress of the Full Moon
Upon reaching the clearing, you find a mysterious Pokémon inside. Examine it to record it as Seen in the Pokédex, just before it teleports out of view. After it flees, you find that it dropped something sparkling behind it: the Lunar Wing! Return to Sailor Eldritch at the ferry, and he explains that the creature that you just met was the Lunar Pokémon. He notices the Lunar Wing in your hand, and thanks you for your help. The ferry then automatically returns to Canalave City.
Canalave City
Sailor Eldritch's house
Examine the little boy again, and the Lunar Wing begins to glow. He seems to have emerged from his nightmare, as his face becomes untroubled and serene. He wakes up shortly after, and Eldritch enters a moment later. The family is grateful for your assistance, and Eldritch has regained his sailing spirit. If spoken with, the little boy mentions his scary dream, of a dark place and a dark Pokémon, but that he was always able to hear the voices of his parents.
Tracking Cresselia
Now that Cresselia has begun roaming across mainland Sinnoh, it can appear nearly anywhere. Be sure to stock up on Quick Balls, as Cresselia will attempt to flee soon after being drawn into battle. It is also recommended to bring a supply of Repels, as this will help avoid other encounters during the hunt. Cresselia will quickly teleport to a new area whenever you cross the threshold into a new location. It is best to stake out a location with several surrounding areas, like the Valley Windworks. Move back and forth between areas, and when Cresselia eventually appears nearby, you will be well-positioned to track it down. Position your party so that your lead Pokémon is level 50 or below, then use a bottle of Repel to scare off other wild Pokémon.
VS Cresselia
Once the battle begins, Cresselia will flee after your first move, unless prevented from doing so by moves like Mean Look. She is a defensive Pokémon with a high HP stat, and will take some effort to weaken enough to capture. On the first turn, either throw a Quick Ball, or use a move that prevents escape to prepare for battle. Her physical Defense is lowest, so consider using physical moves instead of special moves. Inflict status ailments like sleep or paralysis first, as these will remain even if Cresselia escapes. Use a Bug-, Ghost-, or Dark-type attack at the next opportunity to weaken its health quickly, then follow up with Fighting- and Psychic-type moves to wear it down further. Once its health has fallen to critical levels, use a Quick Ball immediately on your next encounter. If Cresselia is blocked from escaping, use Ultra Balls or Dusk Balls instead for greatest effect.
Snowpoint City
Stand Down
After entering the Hall of Fame and with the National Pokédex update in hand, visit the north side of town and speak to the Ace Trainer guarding the temple entrance. She is about to turn you away, before Candice arrives and gives her approval. The Gym Leader explains that she has heard from Cynthia that you are working on a Pokédex, and that there should be many rare Pokémon in the temple.
Snowpoint Temple

Snowpoint Temple is an ancient temple located on the north side of Snowpoint City. According to the woman standing guard, it pays homage to the Pokémon of rock, ice, and steel that shape the land. It is a sacred place where only a chosen few are permitted to enter. An unusual statue stands on its deepest floor.

1F
Walk down the stairs in the northeast corner to reach B1F.
B1F
Several patches of ice can be found here. Slide southward over the easternmost patch to reach a Calcium, then eastward to reach the stairs in the northeast.
B2F
There are fewer icy spots here, but more rocky debris. Follow the path eastward to reach the next floor.
B3F
The fourth floor features a large ice patch. Move to the northwest corner and stand two steps away from the west wall. Slide south, west, then north to stop at the westernmost rock, then slide east and north to reach the stairs.
B4F
Go south to find a boulder and a small ice patch. Use Strength to move the boulder one step north, then two steps east; this prevents you from sliding too far over the ice. Pick up the NeverMeltIce nearby, then continue on to the stairs in the northeast.
B5
The lowest floor holds a massive sheet of ice, and an unusual statue standing in the middle. Move two steps away from the stairs and slide south to reach a bit of dry ground. Next, slide south to the nearest rock, then east and north to another patch of dry ground. Finally, slide west, south, then east to reach the middle area. Examine the statue to find that it seems to exude power. An engraving reads, "A body of rock. A body of ice. A body of steel. When gathers the three Pokémon, the king shall appear.".
| Trainer Tips | |
|---|---|
| Waking the King
In order for the "king" to appear, bodies of rock, ice, and steel must be gathered together first. This is a reference to Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, the legendary giants of the distant Hoenn region. These three Pokémon cannot be found in Sinnoh, and must be imported through Pal Park from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Examining this statue with these three Pokémon in your party reveals that the statue was a dormant Regigigas all along. | |
VS Regigigas
Regigigas is a Normal-type Pokémon, and the being that created the legendary giants. Despite having reached level 70, the damage it is able to cause may make it seem less dangerous than one would expect. This is due to its Slow Start Ability; after spending so long in its dormant state, it takes time before it can get going again, leaving its physical Attack and Speed halved for the first five turns of battle. After this point, the Pokémon regains its full power. Its impressive physical Attack should not be treated lightly; consider sending a Ghost-type Pokémon against it, as it would be immune to Regigigas' Normal- and Fighting-type moves. Begin with Fighting-type attacks to wear its health down quickly, then follow up with moves of other types to chip away at it further. Once its health becomes critical, use Ultra Balls or Timer Balls for best results.
