Walkthrough:Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Part 30

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
These pages follow the original Nintendo DS iteration, not Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.

1F

Fly back to the Pokémon League (Castle) and enter Victory Road from the north. Cross the bridge and scale the wall with Rock Climb. Pass under the bridge to the west, then climb up the stairway and cross eastward over it. By the time you enter the Hall of Fame and obtain the National Pokédex update, the man who previously blocked the cave opening in the east wall has gone, leaving you free to pass through.

1F East (1)

Follow the tunnel down the two stairways and pass through the opening to the east.

It's Dangerous to Go Alone

A young woman can be seen nearby, and soon notices your presence. She introduces herself as Marley, and asks if you would help her. She is trying to make her way through the tunnel, but is having difficulty pushing through the dense fog. She asks to travel with you, so the two of you team up, and Marley promises to keep your Pokémon in perfect health. Like with Cheryl, Mira, Riley, and Buck, Marley and her Arcanine will assist in each battle, turning all wild battles into Double Battles, and all Trainer battles that may otherwise be Double Battles into Multi Battles. It is impossible to use Surf while traveling with Marley, so some areas are inaccessible at first.

Go north and use Strength to move the first boulder, then battle Ace Trainers Micah and Brandi. Continue northward to reach a group of three boulders; push each one to the west or east to proceed. Battle Psychics Desiree and Landon to reach another boulder in the northwest area. Move this boulder two steps northward to face a choice: push it another step northward to reach the Elixir to the east, or push it eastward to reach the Dusk Stone to the north. Only one of these items can be obtained at the moment, the other can be obtained after leaving the area and the puzzle resets. Turn eastward to fight Black Belt Eddie and Veteran Terrell, then move the next boulder to battle Bird Keeper Autumn and Dragon Tamer Joe. Walk down the stairway and go east to battle Psychics Deandre and Kendra. Walk down the next stairway and follow the path through the eastern part of the maze of rocks to battle Black Belt Willie and Veteran Brenden. Climb up the stairway to the east, and Marley suddenly mentions a stone tablet ahead, and how she had wanted to see the Pokémon that visits it. She thanks you for escorting her, then passes through the cave opening to the east.

Treasure Hunting

Once she leaves, you are free to finish exploring the area. First, detour up the stairway to the west for a Big Pearl, then go south. Use Surf to cross over the first two pools and climb up the stairway beyond them. Follow the path westward through the southern part of the rock maze. Climb up the next stairway and move southward to fight Ace Trainers Arthur and Clarice. Continue around the next pool and climb the stairway to the large southwestern pool. Use Surf to pick up the Leftovers on its southeast edge, then go west to return to the entrance. From here, go north to retrace your steps along the path to the northeast exit.

1F East (3)

Climb up the tall stairway to reach the exit to Route 224.

Route 224

Route 224

Route 224 leads east from Victory Road. With its grassy fields, rocky outcroppings, sandbars, and the sea, this area is like a miniature version of the Sinnoh region.

Giving Thanks

A large, white rock is located at the northernmost part of the route. Legend tells that it was once a popular means of showing gratitude, as anyone could inscribe what they were most thankful for upon it. The surface appears polished, like a mirror, indicating that it had been in use for a long time.

End of the Line

Though Team Galactic has been defeated and your place as Champion secured, there is still plenty to do. Determined Trainers await in the Battle Tower, Coordinators show off their Pokémon in Super Contests, and undiscovered treasures await in the Underground. Clearing any of these tasks will increase the level of your Trainer Card and add a new star on it to mark the achievement. These all serve as fun distractions for a Trainer, but don't forget to complete the Pokédex for Professor Rowan. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl brought the total number of Pokémon up to 493, so there is plenty of training left to do!
