Burgh's Leavanny (Japanese: アーティのハハコモリ Arty's Hahakomori) is Burgh's main Pokémon in the games, anime, and manga.

In the anime

Main series

Leavanny debuted in Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest!, when Sewaddle is accidentally attached to a Deerling and then thrown into a raging river. As such, Leavanny is summoned to use String Shot and pull both Sewaddle and Ash (who jumped in to save the smaller Bug-type) back to safety. It later fashioned leaves to place on the head of Sewaddle after his last head-cover had been ruined by the Deerling and the river.

In Battling For The Love of Bug-Types!, Leavanny was Burgh's third and final Pokémon during the Castelia Gym battle against Ash, going up against his Swadloon. It easily took care of Swadloon with Leaf Storm and Hyper Beam, and subsequently engaged Pikachu in battle. It disabled Pikachu with String Shot and dominated the battle until Pikachu used Leavanny's Leaf Storm to cut free from the threads and bombarded it with all of his attacks, resulting in its defeat.

Leavanny was later seen during flashbacks in Battling the Leaf Thieves! and Certain Up, Unova League!.

Personality and characteristics

Much like other members of its species, Leavanny is very parental and uses its cutters and the sticky silk it produces to create clothing made of leaves for small Pokémon. When Ash's Sewaddle had his head-cover ruined, Leavanny took it upon itself to fashion him a new leaf headwear. In battle, Leavanny is Burgh's most trusted and powerful ally, with its knowledge of powerful moves such as Leaf Storm and Hyper Beam being very helpful against strong opponents.

Pokémon Adventures

Leavanny debuted in Big City Battles, being chosen as Burgh's fourth Pokémon during his battle with Black at the Castelia Gym, facing off against Tula. Both Pokémon traded attacks, and Leavanny trapped Tula in its silky thread. It then managed to knock out Tula with Leaf Blade, but Leavanny fainted immediately after. After initial confusion, Burgh realized that Leavanny was poisoned due to Tula had infused the silk with poison.

Leavanny was later seen in The Battle, where it participated in the battle against the Seven Sages at the Pokémon League.
