Snow Hazard (Japanese: スノーハザード) and Clay Burst and (Japanese: クレイバースト) are the names given to the two Japanese paired sets that collectively make up the second main expansion of cards released during the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Scarlet & Violet Era.
From the Snow Hazard set, Baxcalibur's Super Cold Ability allows multiple Basic Water Energy to be attached per turn, which synergizes with Chien-Pao ex's Shivery Chill Ability to strengthen its Hail Blade attack; these Energy cards can then be shuffled back into the deck with Super Rod. Clay Burst's Wigglytuff can use its Balloon Therapy Ability to attach an additional Therapeutic Energy, also from Clay Burst, during a player's turn; this can be attached to Slaking from Snow Hazard to allow it to attack consistently without becoming Asleep. These sets also add new Pokémon that have the United Wings attack, with Murkrow in Snow Hazard and Flamigo in Clay Burst, which can deal more damage with United Wings for each other Pokémon with the same attack in the player's discard pile.
Snow Hazard and Clay Burst were released in Japan on April 14, 2023, followed by localized releases in Taiwan and Hong Kong on April 28, 2023, in Indonesia on June 2, 2023, in South Korea on June 14, 2023, and in Thailand on June 30, 2023.
Cards released in these sets were included primarily in the English Paldea Evolved expansion, though some were not localized until the release of the following Obsidian Flames expansion.
