Talk:List of animated series Pokémon by Evolution
You left out Arbok & Weezing! Zurqoxn 04:14, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
How come you didn't do Tracey's Pokémon? ;_; --☆ケンジガール 04:27, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
So what about Pokémon that can't evolve?
Should those be included, like Torkoal? TTEchidnaGSDS! 21:41, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Brock's Vulpix
Should Brock's Vulpix be included? I mean, it left Brock's group a long time ago and I doubt we'll ever see it again, unless it's the series finale or something.Conanfan1412 22:53, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- I would pose the same question about Onix. All that's known for sure is that it didn't evolve before AG133, and did before AG176, since Brock was surprised to see it in the latter. TTEchidnaGSDS! 23:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'll just add Vulpix. Also, the fact Onix evolve between AG133 and AG176 clearly shows that's it should be placed at the bottom, not counting the unevolved Pokemon of course, lasting over 140 episodes more than Togepi. Conanfan1412 23:53, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Special manga
I've just started a version of this for the characters in Pokemon Special on my user page. It's in a working process.Conanfan1412 05:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Ash's Charmander
Why isn't Ash's charmander evolving into Charmeleon in here?Darkmaster017:39, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh it is in there.but why isn't it up near charizard?Darkmaster017:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Because um, it's 'shortest evolution' (Like how Caterpie stayed a Caterpie for less than an episode...) to 'longest time to evolve'. Charmeleon evolved into 'zard quickly, while Charmander took a while to evolve, so it's near the bottom. Tina☆♫ 17:45, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
In the cases of Caterpie and Yanma
Should we include minutes, instead of saying 0 episodes?--KukiTalk 15:29, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
How the hell are we suppose to know how many minutes it took for Caterpie/Yanma to evolve? --Force Fire (Talk) 07:50, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
For screen minutes, just time it. - Cassius335 14:03, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
James's Cacnea
Shouldn't it be removed? I mean it is not with James anymore unless it returns in DP100 or later with Gardenia. I would like to remove it, but i might start an Edit-War.... --Force Fire 06:44, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
No. - Cassius335 09:18, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Let's say Ash goes to that new battle area in Platinum (the Battle Frontier equivalent, if it exists). Brock goes home, and discovers that Geodude evolved into Golem, and tells Ash about it. That's why we didn't remove Crobat Onix or Geodude.--KukiTalk 11:24, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
But do u get my point that even though Pokemon were left in someone else's care they still count.--KukiTalk 12:31, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Eggs?
It may not be evolution exactly, but should the egghatch times be listed here, too, possibly in a separate section of the page? TTEchidna 00:35, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- And I come back six months later and do it... and a whole page cleanup... — THE TROM — 05:35, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Ash's Snorunt
You know I have to disagree, it evolved simply because it deflected Team Rocket's attacks, and not because it learned ice beam which it failed before evolution. And used after evolution, that doesn't mean it evolved by learning ice beam though. What caused Snorunt to evolve, was being attacked by Team Rocket, or if you want protecting Pikachu. I don't know where this because it learned ice beam came from.--Dman dustin 08:54, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Noted and changed. Thanks. — THE TROM — 09:05, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Ash's Bayleef
Should there be a section for Pokémon that have evolved (Like Ash's Bayleef) but can still evolve again? I'm not sure Ash's Bayleef is the only example but it's the only one that comes to me off the top of my head --Blackstone Dresden 19:14, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Specific Order?
Are the lists in a specific order? If not, I think that Brock's Crobat should be near the rest of its evolutions. Currently the evolution from Zubat to Golbat is towards the bottom and then the evolution from Golbat to Crobat is farther above. I think the Golbat to Crobat evolution should be moved directly below the Zubat to Golbat evolution.
Thanks.–MasterKenobi 17:52, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- The order is the ammount of time it took to evolve. Zubat took forever (159 eps) to evolve into Golbat, so that evolution is near the bottom of the list, while it then evolved into Crobat in 31 episodes, so that evolution is near the top of the list. Werdnae (talk) 19:19, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Lists of Pokémon
Shouldn't this page be included in the Lists of Pokémon template, like the List of Pokémon by anime debut? --Mine4017 (talk) 16:29, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Mega Evolutions Included?
What about that you can include Brock and Misty's Steelix and Gyarados's Mega Evolutions on this list? Because Brock and Misty's Steelix and Gyarados had Mega-evolved into Mega Steelix and Gyarados, respectively, for the first time in the Sun and Moon episode, When Regions Collide. Swampertguy (talk) 23:38, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
- Mega evolutions are not evolutions, they are transformations of the same form.--ForceFire 07:13, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
Not main characters
What about evolutions of Pokemon that don't belong to main characters. There aren't many of them. I think Mankey, Sandile, I recall gag with evolving Kakuna, Elektrike, Wailmer, Drifloon, Aaron's Beautifly etc.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 19:31, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- None of those are as important as the main character's Pokemon. No one is going to care when Aaron's Wurmple evolved.--ForceFire 02:47, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
- It would be interesting to see at least the list all evolutions that happened on screen.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 12:23, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Link to Articles
Is there perhaps a reason why there's no link to the subject's article. Like Ash's Gligar evolving, but you have in a roundabout way to get to Ash's Gliscor? Like you have to go to Ash or perhaps the Gligar page to get to the subject's article (is it to complex to work that in?; or perhaps I'm missing it entirely?). I ask because Go's Scorbunny goes to a non-existent Go's Scorbunny page because it doesn't redirect to Go's Raboot? Confused.--Dman dustin (talk) 06:10, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- To clarify I mean the Pokemon that have evolved --Dman dustin (talk) 06:11, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Go's Scorbunny, as a link, does redirect to Go's Raboot. And the link to the pokemon's page is under the image of the evolved pokemon. Click the image of Gliscor will take you to Ash's Gliscor, but clicking on the Gligar will take you to Gligar. Kai * the Arc Toraph 09:23, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Apologies, I'm just used to the links being highlighted when going over a link (as in a little highlight box telling you where the "link" takes you), and I notice that in a lot of instances, if you go over a menu sprite and it lists a number (the Pokemon's national dex number), it just takes you the image page of that sprite (especially contradictory when some of them actually do highlight where the link takes you), I neglected to look at where the "link" actually took you, the link location highlighted at the very bottom of the screen (at least on my computer). To clarify I mean when you go over an image, and the white rectangular box pops up (near the cursor) it usually tells you what the "link" goes. I go over Yanma's menu sprite and it says Yanma, I go over to Yanmega it says 469. So went I went over to the menu sprite of Scorbunny and it said "Go's Scorbunny" so when I clicked on it it said the article didn't exist, but going over Raboot, it didn't say "Go's Raboot" for example it did just say 814. That's why I was confused because normally when the national dex number pops up in that white rectangular square, it just links to the image page for the menu sprite. So apologies for not looking at the bottom of my browser/screen that actually tells you (in Google Chrome at least) where the image ACTUALLY takes you. I should've verified a little bit more than just relying on past experience, and a single instance of clicking on "Go's Scorbunny" being highlighted and taking me to a "page does not exist" This is definitely my fault. --Dman dustin (talk) 17:45, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Rocket's Meowth
Can it ever evolve? It can Gigantamax, and in the games Gigantamax Meowth cannot evolve, so this is up in the air. Champion Averie, signing off! (Need anything?) 00:10, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Gigantamax is not an evolution, it's a tranformed state. Same with Mega Evolution.--ForceFire 07:27, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- I know. In the games, however, Gigantamax Meowth, Pikachu, or Eevee cannot evolve until fed Max Soup to remove the ability to Gigantamax. That's what I meant. Champion Averie, signing off! (Need anything?) 18:08, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Other Pokémon
To be honest it would be interesting and useful to have a list of all the evolutions that have occurred on screen even if it's a secondary character, or even a wild Pokémon. Evolution is one of the most fascinating moments of the anime, no matter which Pokémon, especially when you consider how many main character's Pokémon haven't evolved, so sometimes secondary character's evolutions is all we get in a while. I could've sworn there was already an article listing this, but I guess I dreamed it. It would be much more useful and interesting than the 5-items list of Episodes in which a main character's Pokémon refuses to evolve, for example. I was thinking in a table in chronological order (maybe divided by season or by generation) with the Pokémon name or sprite, whose Pokémon it is or if it's wild, episode or movie when the evolution occurs (or do different sections for anime, movies, and specials) and maybe a screenshot of the moment it happens, especially useful to see how the evolution animation has evolved over the years.
Pokémon Trainer Episode Screenshot → Professor Juniper BW063
Doesn't need to be gifs necessarily, but that's one of the images I found in here. It would exclude off-screen evolutions. I know it's a lot of effort now, but one would've thought it was a basic thing to list and keep track of over the years. --Omor (talk) 19:49, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- The point of this article isn't just which Pokemon evolved, it's also how long it took for them to evolve. Pokémon belonging to minor characters only last a stretch of an episode and there are only a few that belong to supporting characters. Main character Pokémon gets highlighted because those are the one people are most likely looking for.--ForceFire 07:16, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
