Pokémon Tretta Lab (Japanese: ポケモントレッタラボ Pokémon Tretta Lab) is an accessory for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. and Marvelous AQL, who also developed the Pokémon Tretta arcade game. The game was announced on May 9, 2013, and was released in Japan on August 10, 2013 with three Tretta: Eevee, Mewtwo, and Lucario. The first printings of the set also contained a Pichu Tretta.
The Tretta Scanner reads Tretta, and is powered by three AA batteries and communicates with the 3DS using its two front-facing cameras. It was available in two models: one for the 3DS and one for the 3DS XL, and could be purchased for ¥3800. The Tretta Scanner also contains a download code for the free application Pokémon Tretta Lab Main System (Japanese: ポケモントレッタラボメインシステム Pokémon Tretta Lab Main System) from the Nintendo eShop. The software includes three modes: the Tretta Analyzer, which displays information on Tretta; the Type Checker, which compares two Tretta; and Auto Battle, which allows the player to battle opponents.
Support for Pokémon Tretta Lab was discontinued in early 2014 after the release of the first set in The Pokémon Tretta series, Chespin! Fennekin! Froakie!, with which it is incompatible. Pokémon Tretta Lab Main System was later removed from the Nintendo eShop on August 31, 2017 at 17:00 JST.
