|Lost Origin Build & Battle Box
The Lost Origin Build & Battle Box was released as a prelude to the Lost Origin expansion and offered people the opportunity to experience the cards before their general release on September 9, 2022. Boxes were distributed to participants of Lost Origin Prerelease Tournaments, which were held in an official capacity for the first time since February 2020 following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Tournaments were typically held on the weekends of August 27-28 and September 3-4, 2022. Boxes could also be purchased from stores in the Prerelease Program from August 27; they were also included in copies of the Lost Origin Build & Battle Stadium, which were sold from September 23, 2022.
Each box included a ready-to-play 40-card deck plus four Lost Origin booster packs to potentially integrate useful cards into it. Decks comprised two of four possible groups of cards, including an alternate-art promotional card, as well as 17 basic Energy cards and an assortment of Trainer cards. The possible promotional cards included Finneon, Gengar, Comfey, and Machamp. Lost Origin Build & Battle Boxes were also the first in the product line to be incorporated into the Play Level system and were categorized as Play Level 2.
The boxes could provide exclusive Non Holofoil versions of cards only available as Holofoil in Lost Origin booster packs: Kingdra, Gengar, and Hisuian Arcanine. They could also provide re-releases of Non Holofoil Astral Radiance Irida originally from the Astral Radiance Build & Battle Box and of Non Holofoil Brilliant Stars Professor's Research originally from the Brilliant Stars Build & Battle Box.
Each box included two of the following four different groups of Pokémon cards; one group always coincided with the enclosed promotional card.
Each box also included six random Trainer cards from the following, with no more than two copies of a particular card.
