Steam Cave
Despite being hot and fiery, many Bug types live here and could be considered one of the main types, besides Fire. This and Mt. Horn are one of the few places during main story where Grass-types face a type disadvantage; if you have a Fire and Water Pokémon, then you will have quite the advantage here. While not as terrible as Mt. Horn, there are still some Pokémon here to watch out for:
- Snubbull and Granbull, like Aerodactyl, have quite the type variety of flinching moves, as well as possibly Charm and Scary Face.
- All of Slugma's moves can inflict some sort of status on you: poison, sleep, burn or cringing.
- Magby and Magmar not only can poison or burn you, but also have SmokeScreen to make your moves completely miss enemies, eventually adding possibility of Faint Attack, which never misses.
- Numel is likely to have Magnitude, which hits every other Pokémon for damage that ignores your stats but still takes into account its and your types; taking it down should be priority, especially as a Fire-type.
- Farfetch'd might have with Fury Cutter, Fury Attack, or Aerial Ace.
- Kricketune can have Fury Cutter, and towards the end of its appearance, Sing to put you to sleep.
- Volbeat might confuse you with Confuse Ray, while Illumise can reduce your attack with Charm. Both of them can also have Moonlight, which heals every ally on the entire floor.

The Boss
Before the start of battle, it shows the guild rushing to Team ____'s aid. Corphish ask about Groudon to Chatot, who answers. One of the questions was:
Corphish: "What if you were to...battle Groudon?"
Chatot: "Battle? Squawk! Out of the question! That'd be like throwing your life away!"
The Boss is very hard, so make sure you have a number of Reviver Seeds with you to help you if you faint. As well, you should have some Geo Pebbles or Gravelerocks so the Groudon can't stay away. Groudon's Drought ability will cause Sunny weather to appear, which will be an advantage if you're a Fire type but a disadvantage if you're a Water type, despite the type advantage. Sun weakens Water-type moves, so it'd be more reliable to have Grass moves.
When defeated, Groudon disappears...what? That was only a hologram! They walk forward, but a voice stops them. Your partner ask who is talking, but there is no person or Pokémon in sight. Then you will see a glowing orb which becomes Uxie. Uxie then leads your team to the lake.
At Fogbound Lake
Uxie shows you a beautiful lake with hundreds and hundreds of Volbeat and Illumise. The team is awed. There are colorful sparkles all around, as well as the glowing tails of Volbeat. This seems like a place to relax...there appeared to be no treasure, whatsoever...but it didn't matter, the view was amazing anyway.
Except...
There was a strange glowing light in the middle of the lake. You wonder what it is, but it's strange. As soon as you spotted that glowing light, your heart began to beat faster than usual.
Uxie brings them closer to the lake in order to see more of the glowing spot. While there was still a ton of Volbeat and Illumise, there was a beautiful sparkling fountain in the middle of the lake, which kept it boiling with water (literally). And in the middle of the fountain, which was already sparkling enough with beautiful colors, was the glowing spot that made your heart beat earlier. You again wonder why it's racing faster this time.
You and your partner look closely, as Uxie instructs. You see...a Time Gear!
There was no denying it, your heart was definitely beating much faster this time. You ponder while your partner talks about the Time Gear. Sooner or later, the other members of the guild make it to the lake. Wigglytuff looks happy. The members of the guild simply look at the Time Gear for a long time, because as Wigglytuff said, we can't take a Time Gear, the view here was just amazing.
After a few moments here, Uxie forbids them to tell anyone or he will have to erase their memories. Wigglytuff swore that his guild was good enough never to reveal such secrets. You then leave the lake, finding that despite not being able to take a treasure, the view was the treasure itself.
By finishing the expedition, your Treasure Bag gets expanded yet again, to 40 slots; although this will be the final upgrade you'll see for quite a while. Additionally, you will be granted access to the second Special Episode.
