Ability Shield (Japanese: とくせいガード Ability Guard) is a type of item introduced in Generation IX.

Effect

In battle

Ability Shield prevents the holder's Ability from being changed. It also protects the holder from effects that ignore Abilities. For instance, if a Pokémon with Clear Body is holding Ability Shield and a Pokémon with Mold Breaker uses Leer, its Defense will not be lowered.
