Vine Whip (Japanese: つるのムチ Vine Whip) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation IIII

Vine Whip inflicts damage, has no secondary effect, and has 10 PP.

Generation IV

The PP of Vine Whip increases to 15. All other effects are the same.

  • Chikorita is currently the only Pokémon that can obtain this move through breeding.
  • The use of tentacles in Vine Whip has become a recurring feature in mature Pokémon humor, including in the webcomic Super Effective.
  • As of Generation V, no Generation III Pokémon can legitamitely learn Vine Whip.
