A second into the battle, he is being chased by a {{p|Tauros}}. Dodging more attacks, he has [[Exbo]] use {{m|SmokeScreen}}, and [[Togebo]], his newly nicknamed {{p|Togepi}}, use {{m|Metronome}}. Metronome becomes {{m|Leer}}. An {{p|Ekans}} is hit by Leer. Then Exbo uses {{m|Ember}} on a {{p|Donphan}}, who deflects it.

Inside the Pokémon Day Care, the old woman and Gold look at some books. Gold sees Red and his Pokémon, and then shows Polibo Red's Poli. Afterwards, Gold enters another room.
