Synopsis
Blurb
The scene starts out as usual, Ash and ashfr walking along a road towards the next town. A blimp flies over them, but it's not any old blimp, it's an extraordinarily large blimp. They follow it to the airstrip where a lot of other people gathered around. A man informs to them that the blimp, the Blue May, is like a luxury cruise, and is an impressive two hundred meters in length. The captain walks out but informs of any person with some knowledge of Pokémon treatment. More obvious Ash and the gang go over to offer help.

<i>Ash and his friends stop at an air station to get a closer look at the Leviathan 2, a luxury dirigible taking passengers on a flight around the world. The ship has landed to refuel and the crew needs medical assistance for some passengers' Pokémon, so Brock volunteers to help. The passengers are two wealthy young ladies, Madison and Alexa, whose two Kecleon are suffering from a little airsickness. Brock's remedies make sure the Kecleon, called Greenie and Reddie, are back to normal in no time flat.

They aboard the blimp, which seems to be more like a mansion hall room where Ash is taken. The captain introduces them two women, Madison and Alexa. Brock gets that love daze again and Misty knocks some sense in him. So onto business, Ash asks them what's wrong. The women explain that their Kecleon, Greeny and Reddy, (Greeny is a green Kecleon, Reddy is a purple Kecleon) are rather quite odd. Ash and the others wonder where they are, since the Kecleon are not with them. Madison speaks out and the two chameleon Pokémon appear from hiding from a vase next to them. They seem tired and lazily hop off the vase to the ground. Brock gives a quick examination and has a solution in a snap. He ruffles through his bag getting out some medicine, giving one to the Kecleon, then a piece of home-made Pokémon food. Both get an immediate result of being healthy again. Madison and Alexa thank them, sending both sometime afterward to their room. They seem to go on the other things, such as admiring Pikachu and Misty. (Brock butting in with Brock)
Greenie and Reddie are taken back to their stateroom, which Team Rocket then tries to rob of valuables. Greenie snatches a jewelry box back from Team Rocket and the Kecleon flee the room. As reports come in that the Kecleon are running around the ship, our heroes pitch in to help find them—Team Rocket is on the trail too, hoping to get their hands on that jewelry box. The chase leads everyone out of the dirigible, into the air station terminal, and then right back out again.

Later TRT plot on with another sly plan. They seem to want to hijack the blimp for their own recreational use. Just that when they get to the cockpit, they can't drive it. A lesson learned there when they used the blimp to get to Valencia Island. But they get another plan, why not just swindle some valuable stuff? They go on to search.
As Greenie and Reddie exit the terminal, they're surrounded by our heroes and the dirigible's crew. Team Rocket catches up to everyone and tries to grab them. Now it's clear that Greenie and Reddie weren't being mischievous, they were trying to keep the jewelry away from Team Rocket! Their owners join Ash in battling Team Rocket and soon Team Rocket goes blasting off, the jewelry box is recovered, and the dirigible can finish refueling and leave.</i>

Ash and Misty start showing some more Pokémon to Madison and Alexa. Brock almost releases Brock, but Misty stops him, obviously it won't be a good thing here. Team Rocket finds Madison and Alexa's room and start to work their way into finding anything. MTR hits a jackpot, finding the women's jewelry box. Greeny snatches it with his tongue and keeps it in his mouth. Team Rocket soon dog-piles him and tries to get the box out. An attendant comes in the room with caviar for the chameleons seeing Team Rocket trying to pry open Greeny's mouth. Greeny jumps out during a slight pause and cloaks. Both Kecleon run out but accidentally bump into each other on the way. Team Rocket zips out afterward, leaving the attendant confused.
Plot
As Ash and ashfr are walking along a road towards the next town, a blimp flies over them. They follow it to the airstrip where a lot of other people, including journalists have already gathered around. One male reporter explains that the blimp, the "Leviathan Two", is a luxury cruise on its maiden voyage around the world. The captain suddenly emerges from the blimp and asks for anyone who knows how to apply medical treatment, prompting Ash and his friends to volunteer.

Soon the gang gets the warning that the Kecleon are missing, as usual, Ash is up to the job. Team Rocket dresses up as attendants themselves to sneak by the blimp.
They board the blimp and are introduced to two women, Madison and Alexa. Brock is immediately overcome with emotions and asks them to be his girlfriends, though Misty spares them any further embarrassment and drags Brock away. The two sisters explain that their Kecleon, nicknamed Greeny and Reddy, are feeling rather odd. They reveal themselves, seemingly tired, and lazily hop off the planter pot to the ground. Brock is quick to diagnose the pair with motion sickness and then gets out some medicine. After giving one pill to each of the Kecleon, he provides them a piece of homemade Pokémon food; this combination restores their health.

Ash and the others walk down a metallic hallway, Pikachu noticing a funny red zigzag on the wall. They search out a dining hall and Pikachu notices another funny red zigzag, but it moves slightly. Pikachu informs Ash and Greeny show himself, running off afterward.
Meanwhile, TRT plans to hijack the blimp for their own recreational use, but when they breach the cockpit, they are unable to drive it. As a result, they change their plan and decide to loot the blimp. As Ash and Misty show their Pokémon to Madison and Alexa, Team Rocket finds Madison and Alexa's stateroom and starts rummaging through it, with MTR eventually finding the women's jewelry box. Greeny suddenly snatches it with its tongue and keeps it in its mouth, prompting Team Rocket to attack. However, both Greeny and Reddy escape after an attendant accidentally stumbles upon the scene. He soon alerts Alexa, Madison and Ash's group that the Kecleon are missing. Another air steward informs the sisters that one of the Kecleon has stolen a gentleman's first aid kit. The group offers to assist the sisters in finding their Kecleon.

Team Rocket finds a storage and looks in there, finding Reddy. They get Reddy to open his mouth but it's just a med-kit! But close enough, Meowth starts daydreaming about being "top-cat". Greeny runs by and they notice but soon here the gang approaching. Reddy and Greeny run off and Team Rocket dives into a crate. The gang walks in, doing another skim around the room, Ash sitting on the box Team Rocket's in. Soon they see the Kecleons run by again and they run after them. Jessie unintentionally gets released, breaking the box.
Ash and the others are walking down a metallic hallway when Pikachu notices a red zigzag shape on the wall. They search a dining hall, where Pikachu notices another red zigzag that is moving slightly. It turns out to be Greeny, who flees. The group follows after it, but are unable to spot Greeny, who is hiding on the ceiling above them. Meanwhile, Team Rocket, who has donned air steward uniforms to go undetected, looks inside a storage room and MTR finds Reddy. Jessie forces Reddy to open its mouth, but it has a first aid kit instead. Greeny then runs by, followed by the gang. Reddy and Greeny both run off and Team Rocket is forced to hide inside a crate. The group inspects this cargo area, and Ash unknowingly squashes Team Rocket who is hiding in the crate he is sitting on. An air steward alerts the group to another Kecleon sighting, and they leave the room just as Jessie makes an unannounced appearance, breaking the box open.

Soon they head outside the blimp, seeing Greeny up on the balloon. Brock goes off being heroic and goes after him, showing off some ninja-like moves. He gets to the top and attempts to reach Greeny but Greeny crawls slightly away. Frustrated, Brock jumps onto the balloon itself. Greeny simply climbs up, but Team Rocket has caught sight of him and runs off. Greeny stops at a steep part, which makes Team Rocket slip off the balloon.
The group rushes outside, where the sisters alert them to Greeny, who is climbing on the blimp. Brock rushes up the cherry picker lift to retrieve Greeny, but Brock narrowly misses. Greeny climbs higher, and Brock jumps onto the blimp in desperation, but Greeny crawls away again. At the top of the blimp, Greeny meets Team Rocket. It manages to lose them after the trio slips off the blimp's side. Greeny slips down a rope and rushes into the air lounge with Ash's group and the sisters following after it.

The two Kecleon soon meet and climb down and run into the airport terminal, the gang, Madison, and Alexa giving the chase. They decide to split up to cover more ground. Meanwhile Greeny and Reddy run into Team Rocket in another storage room. Just when things seem hopeless, they start tossing their contents in their mouths back and forth very fast, Reddy ended up with the box. Team Rocket couldn't tell, but James tries a little explanation, which gets them no where. Brock walks around daydreaming what the reward might be for getting Greeny and Reddy back when suddenly, both of them are right there! He chases after them for a while before meeting up with Ash and Misty. They chase them back outside and both get caught in a barrier of people. Just when all seems to be a perfect ending, Team Rocket busts in to ruin the day.
Meanwhile, Greeny and Reddy run into Team Rocket in another storage room. In response, they start tossing the boxes in their mouths back and forth very fast, with Reddy ending up with the jewelry box. Team Rocket are left confused. James tries a magic trick with a bottle cap, and he asks Jessie to pick which hand the bottle cap is in. She is, however, unimpressed and stomps on James. This allows the Kecleon duo to make another getaway. The group spots the fleeing Kecleon and rushes after them, only to crash into the Rocket trio. Having been discovered, Team Rocket performs their motto. James calls on his James for a Smokescreen. Ash orders his Noctowl to blow the smoke away, but Team Rocket has already fled the scene.

The battle soon starts off, Bayleef vs. Jessie. Bayleef gets a miss with Vine Whip and Arbok counters with Headbutt, Misty comes out and uses its own Headbutt on Arbok. James sends out James, as usual it tries to eat him. James tells it to use Razor Leaf and it does so towards them. Greeny and Reddy get into battle and deflects the leaves with their tails. Arbok goes for a Wrap, but Reddy uses a Lick attack to stop Arbok, which also releases the jewelry box. Meowth goes after it, but Poliwhirl slaps it silly with a DoubleSlap. Victreebel moves in but Greeny does a Lick attack on Victreebel and soon both Kecleon use Psybeam to push the two Pokémon back to their owners. Bayleef makes another Vine Whip and tosses them out into the sky. The blimp takes off soon afterward and the gang go off to Olivine City for their next destination.
Brock suggests they split up, and the group does so. Brock imagines the affection he will receive from Madison and Alexa, but he becomes embarrassed when Reddy and Greeny are staring directly at him during this. The two Kecleon then flee outside, but this time the crew and the other guests surround the troublemakers. The sisters attend to the Kecleon and ask for the boxes to be returned, however, Team Rocket arrives on the scene demanding the Pokémon. Jessie is determined to get the Kecleon and calls on her Jessie for assistance. Ash's Bayleef misses with Vine Whip and Arbok counters with Headbutt. Misty then comes out and uses its own Headbutt on Arbok. James sends out James, which uses Razor Leaf. Greeny and Reddy join the battle and deflects the leaves with their tails. Arbok goes for a Wrap, but Reddy uses a Lick attack to stop Arbok, which also releases the jewelry box. Meowth goes after it, but Poliwhirl attacks him with Double Slap. Victreebel moves in, but Greeny uses a Lick attack on Victreebel. Then, both Kecleon use Psybeam to push the two Pokémon back to their owners. Bayleef lassos Team Rocket with another Vine Whip and sends them blasting off.

Alexa returns the first aid kit to the gentlemen, who is simply grateful to have it with him again. Soon the "Leviathan Two" takes off and the two sisters wave goodbye to the group. Ash and his friends are back on the road once again to Olivine City.

Plot

As Ash and his friends are walking along a road towards the next town, a blimp flies over them.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket plans to hijack the blimp for their own recreational use, but when they breach the cockpit, they are unable to drive it. As a result, they change their plan and decide to loot the blimp. As Ash and Misty show their Pokémon to Madison and Alexa, Team Rocket finds Madison and Alexa's stateroom and starts rummaging through it, with Meowth eventually finding the women's jewelry box. Ash and the others are walking down a metallic hallway when Pikachu notices a red zigzag shape on the wall. The group inspects this cargo area, and Ash unknowingly squashes Team Rocket who is hiding in the crate he is sitting on. An air steward alerts the group to another Kecleon sighting, and they leave the room just as Wobbuffet makes an unannounced appearance, breaking the box open.

The two Kecleon then flee outside, but this time the crew and the other guests surround the troublemakers. The sisters attend to the Kecleon and ask for the boxes to be returned, however, Team Rocket arrives on the scene demanding the Pokémon. Jessie is determined to get the Kecleon and calls on her Arbok for assistance. Ash's Bayleef misses with Vine Whip and Arbok counters with Headbutt. Poliwhirl then comes out and uses its own Headbutt on Arbok. James sends out Victreebel, which uses Razor Leaf.

Trivia

  • This episode marks the first anime appearance of a Generation III Pokémon.
  • This is also the first episode to feature Abilities.
  • The purple Kecleon shown in this episode is not a normally colored Pokémon. However, its color is also not that of a Shiny Pokémon.
    • The Kecleon featured in this episode are the same colors as those that run the Kecleon shops in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. However, the purple Kecleon in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series has green-colored outlines on its face, while the purple Kecleon in the anime retains the same colored outlines as normal Kecleon.
  • This was the last episode to air before M04 debuted in Japanese theaters.
    • Incidentally, a Kecleon would appear in that movie's Pikachu short, Pikachu's PikaBoo, narrowly failing to make Kecleon one of the few Pokémon introduced in the movies or the side series before the main series.
  • This episode marks the first instance of one of Team Rocket's boss fantasies featuring them fantasizing about sending a Pokémon to Giovanni.

Errors

  • After Noctowl blows Weezing's Smokescreen away, Pikachu disappears.
  • When Team Rocket discusses their plans before deciding to go steal things, they think of the idea of stealing the whole blimp. However, when they are in the cockpit, Meowth says "I don't know how to drive a blimp, do you?" and they discard that idea. This contradicts the events of A Scare in the Air and Poké Ball Peril, in which they do just that.
