(Japanese: ポッド Pod) is one of the three Gym Leaders of Sanyou City's Gym, known officially as the Sanyou Gym. He specializes in Template:Type2 Pokémon. He gives the Tri Badge to Trainers who defeat him if they chose Tsutarja as their Starter Pokémon.
In the games
Pod appears in Pokémon Black and White as one of the Gym Leaders of the Sanyou City Gym, alongside Dent and Corn. This gym is the first to be challenged by the player.
Pod battles the player if Tsutarja is the chosen starter Pokémon, using Baoppu to battle.

In the anime
Pod appears in BW005 alongside fellow Gym Leaders Dent and Corn. He makes his first appearance with Corn serving Ash. Ash declines saying he wants to battle the Gym Leader and the three brothers introduce themselves. They followed Ash to the battleground where they revealed their Pokémon.
Pod is the first to be battled by Ash and loses. He is set to appear in BW006.

| Pod's Baoppu | ||
| Baoppu is Pod's only known Pokémon. It first appeared when Pod showed what Pokémon he has and Ash scans it on his Pokédex. It is the first Pokémon Ash battled in his gym battle. Pokabu's attacks didn't do much damage to Baoppu, but Baoppu hit Pokabu hard with Fire Punch, Flamethrower and Dig. One of Baoppu's Dig attacks knocked Pokabu into the air. But Ash commanded it to use Tackle into the hole that Baoppu was in and it managed to bite down on Baoppu's tail. Pokabu then spun Baoppu around and threw it on the ground, used Ember successfully, and then knocked it out with powerful Tackle.
