Kingambit (Japanese: ドドゲザン Dodogezan) is a dual-type Dark/Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
It evolves from Bisharp upon leveling up after defeating three Bisharp that lead a pack of Pawniard while holding a Leader's Crest. It is the final form of Pawniard.
Biology
Kingambit is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Kowtow Cleave.
Trivia
- No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Kingambit and its pre-evolved forms.
- The types they have are also the two types that were introduced in Generation II.
Origin
Kingambit may be based on a samurai and a feudal era Japanese military commander.
Name origin
Kingambit may derive from king and gambit; both words are applicable terms used in chess.
