- Ash and Goh see a mysterious Pokémon.
- Team Rocket makes their first appearance.
- Leon defeats Lance in the finals of the Pokémon World Championships, becoming the World Champion in the process.
- Ash decides to challenge Leon.
- Team Rocket tries and fails to catch a Drednaw, inadvertently causing it to Gigantamax and start attacking Wyndon Stadium.
