Froakie (Japanese: ケロマツ Keromatsu) is a Water-type Pokémon.
It evolves into Frogadier staring at level 16, which evolves into Greninja starting at level 36.
Along with Chespin and Fennekin, Froakie is one of three starter Pokémon of Kalos available at the beginning of Pokémon X and Y.
Along with Chespin, Fennekin, Xerneas, and Yveltal, it was the first Generation VI Pokémon to be revealed to the public, being revealed on January 8, 2013 as part of the Pokémon Direct broadcast.
Biology
Froakie is a quadruped, frog-like Pokémon. it is covered in pale blue skin with white front paws. It has a single, dark blue stripe going down the center of its head to their nose. Its back is covered in what appears to be a cape of white bubbles, and it has two small bubbles on their nose. Its hind feet have two toes, while its forefeet have three. Its eyes are large with yellow sclera, black irises, and white pupils.
Froakie can jump as high as a three-story building. It has strong bubbles on its chest that protect it from attacks, which it can also launch at opponents to obscure their field of vision.

Froakie may be a combination of frog, froth, croak, and rookie.
Keromatsu is a combination ケロケロ kerokero (onomatopoeia for a frog's croaking) and 沫 matsu (bubble or foam) or 飛沫 himatsu (spray or splash).
