Please use sentence case in section and article titles - that is to say, capitalise as if you were writing a sentence, rather than as if you were writing a book title. - 振霖T 06:13, 9 November 2005 (CST)

Type effectiveness numbers

I'd like to ask where you're getting your numbers. Latias (Pokémon)#Type effectiveness has truly bizarre numbers compared to PokéFor's figures. - 振霖T 06:41, 9 November 2005 (CST)

For the physical attack types, I start with 100 and apply weakness/resistance according to the normal rules. For special types, I start with 100*defense/special defense, which allows for better representation of damage ratios. For example, a Psychic move would do about 1.5 times as much damage to a Geodude as a Fighting move of the same strength; just looking as weakness/resistance would make it look like Figting is twice as strong as Psychic.User142 07:48, 9 November 2005 (CST)

Hmmmm, you may wish to note that somewhere in the template. It confused me quite a bit the first time. - 振霖T 03:24, 10 November 2005 (CST)

If you would like, I could lend you the services of BulbaBot so that you won't need to manually edit all those articles. If you are not proficient in PHP, I can do the coding for you, if you could provide me the data. - 振霖T 05:28, 13 November 2005 (CST)

Minor edits

I suggest marking all your minor edits as such. It isn't mandatory, but it makes it a lot easier for people who pay the most attention to major edits. --Argy 21:58, 6 December 2005 (CST)

Which edits of mine are you calling minor? I tend to be careful about marking edits as minor, because if someone wants to keep track of changes, better have false positives than false negatives.User142 02:54, 7 December 2005 (CST)

Walkthorughs

As much as I appreciate your writing your walkthroughs, I'm just wondering, what's the point of having the content in templates? You could just put them in the article itself. But, as far as I am concerned, walkthroughs are not encyclopedic. They are informative, yes. But not encyclopedic. - 振霖T 07:46, 14 November 2005 (CST)

The reason I'm using templates is because this way I can re-use the same data for Sapphire without having the ugliness of mixing data from the two games (like at gamesfaq). If a change or correction will be made in the template, it will then show up in the sapphire game, to. User142 07:49, 14 November 2005 (CST)

In that case, don't put them in the template namespace. You can easily include non-templates as if they were templates, for example, {{:User talk:User142}} would include this page. - 振霖T 03:26, 16 November 2005 (CST)

Sorry, I didn't know this is possible. I fixed it now.User142 07:59, 16 November 2005 (CST)

HELP!

The anime section is being vandalised! I don't know what to do! :'( Manga-in-a-bottle 01:52, 22 November 2005 (CST)

How about you start by reverting to the non-vandalized version.
Which can be accessed via the history tab. An alternative course of action, of course, is to contact a sysop. - 振霖T 03:14, 22 November 2005 (CST)
Sorry that I didn't do much in the whole vandal thing, but I'm kinda new to this whole wiki thing -- I tried looking for a 'help' or 'what-to-do' page, but there was nothing avalaible. Manga-in-a-bottle 01:41, 23 November 2005 (CST)
needs to removed!

Sockpuppets

Please use only one account, User:User142-Someone. If you would like to have all your current edits moved to one account or the other, I can arrange for that. - 振霖T 03:14, 22 November 2005 (CST)

I am not Someone.User142 03:16, 22 November 2005 (CST)
If you say so. But as far as logs go (from November 13, 2005), you and Someone are the only unaccounted-for users with the same recorded IP address. But then again, I can appreciate that you are behind a university proxy server. - 振霖T 03:48, 22 November 2005 (CST)
I had the same problem last academic year at Wikipedia, when a user named Dittoboy kept blocking the university proxy server.User142 09:58, 24 November 2005 (CST)

Hoenn Pokemon

Please refrain from taking out the Hoenn Dex numbers on the PokeDex pages. They're there for a reason. Even though those Pokemon may not appear in the Hoenn region, you can still sort them into a Hoenn Dex order in Ruby/Sapphire once you trade with FireRed/LeafGreen. So they all have Hoenn Dex numbers (IE - Beginning with Treecko and ending with either Lugia or Celebi, I believe) despite them not appearing in the wild in Hoenn.

Vandals in your university

Perhaps you could try to get the cooperation of your university IT staff to find the culprits and have them blocked from accessing this site - surely, it must be against the rules to use the school internet connection for those activities. I can't block your university without blocking you as well. - 振霖T 02:57, 13 January 2006 (CST)

There may be no way to do this - there are several public internet computers scattered in this university. These computers are intended for students in all departments to do things related totheir studies, but there is no way of enforcing these rules. The Student Union here set up 8 computers in their building, in an other building there are about 50 computers, in each library (there are about 30) there is probably a few, etc.User142 | Talk 01:28, 15 January 2006 (CST)
This is becoming quite annoying... maybe I should restrict registration to a system like Gmail where you have to be invited by existing users. - 振霖T 04:19, 16 January 2006 (CST)
Since someone stole my name at the forums (and posted spam), I'll reply here:
I think that it may be necessary to do this, although I don't consider it a good thing. I do know that at other wikis (Wikipedia, Wikicities) there are vandals who call themselved Dittoboy who declare that they are out to get my university blocked, but this doesn't look like either of them.
User142 | Talk 07:48, 16 January 2006 (CST)
Just tell me what you want as the email for the account. I'll take it off them and give it to you. --Archaic 08:30, 16 January 2006 (CST)
I don't want to write my e-mail address in any public location, since I don't want the people I know to know that I'm here. However, my e-mail address s on the Bulbapedia system, and any Bulbapedia user with an e-mail adress registered on Bulbapedia can e-mail me that way.User142 (Talk) 01:45, 18 January 2006 (CST)
Enjoy the account. It's all yours now. --Archaic 01:35, 19 January 2006 (CST)
Thank you. User142 (Talk) 05:37, 19 January 2006 (CST)

Formatting

I am going to ask that you stop adding information for a while and work on presentation matters. Your tables are absolutely horrendous in terms of aesthetics - the established look is flat tables with thin gridlines - the ones you have created hark back to the look of mid-1990s webpages. Look into, say, List of Pokémon by National Dex number or List of anime specials for ideas. If you prefer gray, {{graytable}} also exists. - 振霖T 04:46, 18 January 2006 (CST)

Do you need help?

Do you need help with any article, I would be happy to help you with an article. I am best at editing parts related to the Video Games or Anime, if you want me to edit any article and help you, I would be very happy to do it for you. Helping others is a good idea, as it can get changes made quicker. If you want me to help, leave a message in my talk page. Thanks I Love Minun (talk) 19:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Learnsets

Zhen told me you're working on the Learnsets for every page--do you want a hand with that? I'm coming back into the fold here, but I'm still rather out of the loop. evkl 13:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, thank you. User142 (Talk) 07:58, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Pardon me, but I'd prefer if use wrote Giga Impact instead of Giga Attack. It's nothing big, it's just that Giga Impact already has a proper page.--Pokencyclopedia 14:43, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Since the 3 Pokédex sites linked to from all Pokémon pages which have Generation IV data all say Giga Attack, I think I'll go along with that. I've made a redirect there so the links will all be fine. User142 (Talk) 17:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
And for future reference, Stealth Rock is a Rock-type variation of Spikes and Rock Cart is a Rock-type variation of Agility and they don't gain STAB.--Pokencyclopedia 20:41, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: Link templates

I knew about the move and Pokémon templates, but I didn't know about the Item template. Thanks for the advice. --TwinsMetsFan 06:22, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm currently setting up a new category for all such templates. User142 (Talk) 06:23, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Personally I'm wondering whether it's such a good idea to categorise these highly-used templates... - 振霖T 06:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I think that they should be. I think that categorising them will help people know them better, including some I didn't know. User142 (Talk) 06:32, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Type effectiveness modifiers

There are a lot of them in DP. Foresight will make Ghost-types vulnerable to Normal-type moves. Gravity allows Flying-types and Pokémon with Levitate to be hit by Ground-type moves. (There's also a hold item that has that effect.) And so on. I think there's no point adding a footnote for every such possibility. - 振霖T 14:37, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

However, to take the effectiveness of Fighting moves on Ghost Pokémon, we should give the viewers the information to know the difference between Fighting-type moves (after Foresight had been used) on Gastly (50% effectiveness), Sableye (200%) and Dusclops (100%). User142 (Talk) 18:04, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Giga Attack

Giga Attack says that Dratini, Larvitar, Bagon, and Metang can all learn it. Those are the key mon to check, since they're not evolved. If they can't learn it, the sentence should change to "All Pokemon that have no evolution in at least one game and can learn TMs can learn Giga Attack from TMs." Or something. --Raijinili 05:27, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

According to a quick search on Eevee's dex, there are 255 Pokémon who can learn Hyper Beam in DP, of them only 246 can learn Giga Attack. A similar search for just Giga Attack gives 247 results. I haven't analyzed the lists yet, but those are the figures. User142 (Talk) 09:58, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Raticate

You skipped it in your adding of the Gen4 TMs.
