Levitate (Japanese: ふゆう Floating) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Twenty-eight Pokémon have this ability naturally, most of them either Psychic- or Template:Type2s, making it the most prevalent ability in the games.
Effect
In battle
Levitate causes the user to be unaffected by Template:Type2 moves and Arena Trap. Despite the fact that the move Magnet Rise claims it changes the Pokémon's ability to Levitate, this is not true — it merely renders the Pokémon immune to Ground attacks while still keeping its normal ability for five turns.
Outside of battle
Levitate has no effect outside of battle.
