Cent (Japanese: ダラー “Dollar”) is an Alolan Meowth that Sun owns in Pokémon Adventures and his starter Pokémon. He is level 49 and his Characteristic is "somewhat stubborn."
History
Cent first appeared in PASM01, battling against a group of Team Skull Grunt's Salandit. He easily blocked all of their attacks and finished them off with Pay Day. Later that day Sun ran into Tapu Koko, who began attacking the group. Sun sent Cent and Dollar out to fight and the two immediately begin fighting each other. They soon figured out they needed to focus on their opponent and Dollar attacked with Ember while Cent used Pay Day. While it seemed like their attacks did nothing Tapu Koko ended up fleeing, leaving behind a Sparkling Stone.
In PASM06, Cent battled Guzma's Masquerain at the Iki Town festival tournament. Using the Water Sport that Masquerain previously used, Cent begins splashing the Eyeball Pokémon. The water causes Masquerain's antennae to get wet and it begins to lose altitude. Cent then swiftly defeats it with Night Slash. He next battles Golisopod, who hits Cent with First Impression and proceeds to beat the Scratch Cat Pokémon up. The battle seems over, but Cent gets back up enraged that the coin on his head got dirty. He attacks furiously with his claws and defeats it with Pay Day, winning Sun the battle. In the finals Cent faces off against Gladion's Type: Null; Cent attacks with a Night Slash that easily gets blocked by Type: Null's helmet and is then immediately defeated by X-Scissor.
Upon arriving on Akala Island Sun meets Lana, Kiawe, and Mallow, the Trial Captains of Akala. Unsure if he is worthy of taking the Island Challenge Kiawe sends out his Alolan Marowak to battle Sun, with Sun choosing Cent. Marowak attacks with Flame Wheel and the flame begins chasing Cent, leaving him wide open to Shadow Bone. Deciding to ignore the flames to focus on the bone Cent counters with Feint Attack. The battle is then called off as Kiawe makes a phone call, but Sun and Kiawe agree that Cent would have won after using Assurance.
In PASM10, Cent participated in Sun's fight against the Totem Pokémon Lana trained, a horde of Wishiwashi. Although Sun was concerned with not hurting Baht and his group of friends Cent rushed in and attacked after his coin got wet. Cent easily gets beat up by the School Form Wishiwashi and Sun decides to focus his attacks on Baht, who is located in the center of the left eye. Cent manages to get close enough to slash the eye and the Wishiwashi separate, winning Sun the trial.
Personality and characteristics
Typical of his species Cent is sophisticated, aloof, and unconcerned with how others are doing. He is a competent battler as he is able to parry attacks with ease and quickly finish battles. When out of battle Cent is very sluggish and lazy. Due to being descended from royalty, Cent is very prideful and will fly into a rage if the coin on his head is dirtied. Cent has a strained relationship with Dollar and will attack him whenever given the chance.
