Mantyke (Japanese: タマンタ Tamanta) is a Generation IV Pokémon first revealed in March 2006 alongside Buizel and Chatot, appearing in the movie Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.

In "Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea", Jack Walker uses the Capture Stylus on Mantyke in order to use it to help him, and Ash and co. escape from Captain Phantom.

- Mantyke's US name was revealed on 21st January 2007, one day after Dialga and Palkia's US names were revealed.
- Mantyke is the only Pokémon so far that needs another Pokémon to be in the party in order to evolve it.
Origin
Mantyke is based on a baby manta ray.
Name origin
- Mantyke is a combination of manta and tyke, a word sometimes used to described a child.
- It's Japanese name, Tamanta, is a combination of tama, the Japanese word for ball, and manta.
