In the anime
Snowbelle City was first shown in All Eyes on the Future! on Serena's Town Map.
Trivia
- Snowbelle's Japanese motto is 冬よりも 冷たく 凍る 街 "The city that freezes colder than winter".
- An NPC will play a remastered version of Jubilife City from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl's soundtrack.
Origin
Snowbelle City's real-life counterpart is likely Besançon, the capital of Franche-Comté and the Doubs department. The nearby Jura Mountains, on the Swiss border, are known for cross-country skiing and freezing temperatures in winter, particularly in the town of Mouthe. The region is sometimes called "Little Siberia" by the French.
