Battlefield

The Laverre Gym (Japanese: クノエジム Kunoe Gym) is the official Gym of Laverre City. It is based on Fairy-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Valerie. Trainers who manage to defeat her receive the Fairy Badge.

In the games

The Gym is designed like a doll house. In order to battle Valerie, the player must go through a warp tile puzzle, much like the Saffron Gym in Kanto. After Valerie has been defeated, a one-way warp tile in her room can be used to return back to the entrance.

The table below shows how the Gym's teleporters are interconnected. The colors are meant solely as a visual aid.

In the anime

The Gym appeared in A Fashionable Battle!. Its exterior appearance is similar to the games, though it also has a catwalk which is used for fashion shows hosted by Valerie.

The Gym's battlefield was shown in Fairy-Type Trickery!. It is a garden with digital displays, which are used when Valerie is making her entrance, on the walls. In the same episode, Ash had a battle with Valerie, eventually emerging victorious and earning his sixth Kalos League Badge.

Pokémon used in Gym

Valerie's Spritzee
Spritzee
Spritzee is Valerie's first known Pokémon. It battled against Scottie's Bagon. Bagon's Dragon Breath had no effect on Spritzee. After easily dodging Bagon's Headbutt attacks using its agility, it defeated Bagon with Dazzling Gleam.

It reappeared in Fairy-Type Trickery!, where it battled against Ash in his Laverre Gym battle. It defeated Ash's Fletchinder, but lost to Hawlucha, winning the Gym battle for Ash.

Spritzee's known moves are Dazzling Gleam, Trick Room, Gyro Ball, and Moonblast.
