The Awakening (Japanese: ねむけざまし Drowsiness Cure) is a type of medicine introduced in Generation I. It can be used to wake a Pokémon from sleep.

An Awakening can be purchased from any Shop for 100-70 gold, and sold for 50-65 gold.

In the Japanese version of A Scare in the Air, a woman won an Awakening as a lottery prize. In the English dub, the prize was changed to "beautiful refrigerator magnets."
